I've been interested to see what FF Games does with the RPG. I never played WotC's Star Wars RPG but it is something I've always been interested in (SW Roleplaying that is.) Especially lately for some reason...

Looks like the game takes place during the dark times, with a focus on playing scum and villainy http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=218&esem=1. I got into SWM originally because I the Saga Edition RPG was so focused on using them for game play. I still collect SWM because I can justify that, while I don't have anyone to play with other than my girlfriend, I still use them for saga edition games from time to time. I'm sure my gaming group will be investing in the new system, because when it comes to lucas, he basically owns our pin numbers. It is really going to be hard to one up WOTC's Saga edition. They did amazing things with the mechanics system to capture the cinematic feel of the movies like no other system had. Can't recommend it enough, except for it being out of print, and it costs 2 slaves... and quite frankly, no rpg is worth that much.

I'm a little bummed that I never got into when it was out, the system seems really interesting and well done. As for FF Games...$30 for a beta?! Yikes...and I don't know how I feel about splitting them into 3 rulebooks...I like Star Wars, all of Star Wars. The Scum and Villainy are great, but I want a Jedi to lead the path to the Light Side! EDIT (and I'm impatient and don't want to wait for the 3rd book)

For a good site to buy Star Wars Saga Edition books, check out the following site: wholesalegaming.comI've been going to them for about a decade now, and they are always great to buy stuff from.

They also have about a dozen old WOTC SW RPG products here for similar prices: http://www.fathead.com/entertainment/star-wars/death-star/Used to be much cheaper, but the recently raised their prices. Must be getting low on stock and/or maybe there is more demand. You can also download all of the books for FREE here: http://www.4shared.com/office/QLisEl52/Star_Wars_Saga_Edition_-_Core_.htmThis is to the core rule book for the saga edition, but the rest are there, too.
