I am itching to host some SWM events here in the buffalo area. we already have Frostycon in February but I didnt know if there would be any interest to have one around Nov or Dec. The University of Buffalo does a minicon in November that I thought it would be cool to host and event there (If they allow it or are hosting it this year) or I also have access to a our church almost anytime. We have a fully stocked snack shop and I can get good deals on food. I promise I will not smack anybody with a Bible, though I must say that sounds like a great way to distract someone to win a game..JK Let me know if there is any interest and maybe some ideas for formats and prizes.

In regards to this Bible smacking; will the Bible used be one of those small New Testament ones handed out everywhere, or a family heirloom behemoth?

ohh without a doubt the family heirloom bible, the kind you need at least two hands to to hold and weights in upwards to 50lbs

Thats awesome, I was thinking about having a little side comp as well. best custom mini from the new v-set. I love seeing new customs that people make. There are some really talented people in the SWM community and it would be nice to do something to reward all of their efforts.

jak your minis are awesome. I am trying to nail down some dates does nov or dec work best?

I can't do any sunday events but most of the time a friday night is available for some gaming. here is what I am thinking so far

Date: Saturday in NOV or DEC (Time will be announced later this week, maybe in december since Jamestown, TN tourney is in NOV)
Cost: 20 Dollars (includes lunch or dinner depending on start time)
Format: Still Working on it (Maybe Royal Rumble or Fantastic 4 with 1 epic) Open to suggestions, I want it to be a blast for all that come
Prizes: Prize Support from Jak plus a piece of the pot (The more players the more money you can win) (maybe even bounty Hunter Cards form Gencon if I can get a hold of them)

More info to come please respond if you are interested in this event so I can plan accordingly

Any Fri/Sat in Nov/Dec works for me.

We have to keep Thanksgiving & Christmas in mind, of course.Love

Since TN tourny is early Nov. and may not draw the same players as West NY,I'd suggest Fri/Sat after
Thanksgiving,as most people will be off work, or the Fri/Sat before.

anybody else have ideas?

I am thinking sometime in December 8t is going to be the main event. Engineer is hooking us up with some gencon exclusives as well. If you have every gotten on of his trophies I have the ability to make those as well and will be making some for the event. the church is booked almost every weekend so we might have to host it somewhere else I have two other options that i am going to explore this week
