Which comes down to interpretation. Two people can view the same character, and come to completely different ideas of how to interpret the figure into SWM. There have been a few figs that I've felt was a missed opportunity, and I'm sure some of the figs I had a heavy influence on will be the same to others. You can't please everybody, and sometimes you are the one who wasn't satisfied.

Padme Amidala, Senator, 501st Legion Clone Commander, Alpha Squadron Pilot, Bomo Greenbark (After Impulsive Reprisal), Captain Panaka of Theed, Queen Padme Amidala, YVH 1, Lieutenant Page, & the Mandalorian Tactician all cost 25 or less, can shoot, have Twin Attack, and at least a base 9 attack.

Only the Mando tactician has base 20 damage of those. Still good company for Larenth to be in, all of those pieces listed are good.

The person who had the issue seems to be (by his own admission) a fanboy. I'm not familiar with the character at all, so I don't care either way, but if in canon she's really all that and a bag of chips, I can understand being underwhelmed. If the designers didn't want her to replace Han in the meta, she could have been made as powerful as she is but then just been slightly overcosted so you'd just play her if you liked the character. Of course, then you'd have people complaining that she's overcosted. No win situation I guess.

I think this rendition is my favorite though swapping accurate for camaraderie/synergy within 6 of Jax so she'd have to choose to gain the benefits of loner or boost for jax. Overall I don't find the character that bad (really just adding loner to the one we got would've been great). For me the biggest misses came in vset 2 quality of character representation has certainly improved since then.

The funny thing is that the blaster deflect/intercept was her trademark. I look at the stats and I have no issues. I understand that Han, being the pinnacle of Rebel firepower, should not be replaced. He's iconic. Laranth was the strong, silent type. She let her blasters do the talking.
The irony here is that, barring RetCon, the whole Coruscant Nights series is pretty much non-canon. JM Evan Piell was defeated in the book but, in the Clone Wars SE3, he got defeated. So, it pretty much null.
Anyway, I have said my peace on this ... Piece.
Thank you MM247

Thank you MM247 Just as a disclaimer I don't mind discussing pieces I helped on. I'm glad you guys call us out on stuff and ask questions about why we did things that we did, I think that's healthy. I just underestimated the popularity of this character I guess.

Blaster deflect (FP2: Useable when this character or an ally is hit by an attack from a non-adjacent enemy; if this character has line of sight to both the acting enemy and the target of the enemies attack that attack is negated with a save of 11) This seperates it from evade/soresu/deflect (really wouldn't want a 3rd of the same ability) by allowing it to benefit allies. Could've been interesting.

Could've been interesting. Nope. Too complicated. (Thus my true role in Vsets is revealed)

I just underestimated the popularity of this character I guess. I don't know how popular she is. I just love gunslingers (Western fan by genetics) be they futuristic, modern, or Western. So when one shows up on the radar that uses the Force willingly and isn't fond of lightsabers (double plus), I take notice. If I was playing anymore, my word would be much stronger than a casual fan/low-level customizer. I left the competitive world behind 1.5 years ago so, everything I say should be taken with a grain if salt.

Less complicated version:
Blaster Deflect (FP2: When this character or an adjacent ally is hit by an attack from a non-adjacent enemy, the target takes no damage with as save of 6)
Twice as expensive as Lightsaber Deflect, but lower save and protects allies too.

Could've been interesting. Personally, my take: Force Interception (Generic term for more use in other factions. Could mean blaster bolts fired, debris kicked up, or meteorites pulled from the heaven's above.) Force 2, Useable on this character's turn. This character gains the following force ability: Allies within 6 (4 if unbalanced) squares gain Evade until this character next activation. In my opinion, this would be done just to reduce Rieken abuse within the faction with an option (force based evade vs CE granted evade) while still allowing a piece to be offensive in nature. More than likely, this piece would be 30-34 PTs with the reliance on a force battery/spirit to perpetuate the ability for any great length.

I just wanted to say thanks to the designers on the interaction over Laranth. I'm just a fanboy, as you can tell. I wasn't intending to be combative, so if I did, I'm sorry. But, I have to I liked getting a peak behind the curtain. Now, just get I5YQ right, and I will remain quiet. ;)
