Here's the problem. The underlying tone, at least what I've seen, has been fairly dismissive those that disagree that certain pieces are a problem. It was why I closed that insulting "congtatulations, Trevor" thread, because it was a rant disguised as a congratulations. You haven't been the main culprit, Death's Baine, but the posts do blur together. I have seen some very thinnly vield insults to designers. I've debated on editing them, but haven't since nothing too much has come of it, other than making each side a bit more stubborn.

And this is me with my mod hat on. This thread is going off topic. Bring it back to Satele, not posters. Nothing good will come of this conversation.

What other people post is beyond my control, but when someone comes on and says I have been moronic, I expect them to be able to back that up.

On Satele... I don't think I have anymore to say about her, that has not already been said.

My only complaint about Jaq is that he's a staple in two different factions. I would have rather seen someone else (Dessel for example) be the top shooter in Sith. Not that Dessel isn't playable, but I notice that he isn't brought up in this thread. Just so that there's more distinction among factions.

On the other hand, it's easier to learn Jaq's stats since he comes out 80-90% of the time either Sith or OR hit the table.

I like Satele Shan! She is probably a little too cheap for what she brings, but i think the OR needed a good melee piece in that price range.

I have to agree with cost being the biggest issue. Probably 6-9 PTs to low. But that is my take.

In our Save11 group, we started our "Hutt Regional" championship over the weekend, so it was our first chance to see Scum and Villainy/Jedi and Sith pieces in action in ranked 200 point games. In this championship, people can bring a different squad for each opponent, which means all sorts of fun meta-gaming predicting what each opponent will bring.

The Bastila/Satele/Carth/Atton squad got pulled out a couple of times, and lost both games.

It got destroyed by a Thrawn/Palleon/Cad Bane/Zam Wessell squad - Satele is useless as a melee interference piece against Force Immune shooters since her ranged defense needs force points.

And it lost to a Mara/Ganner/Dash/Anakin Solo squad - it was a much closer game in this case, and Satele's Absorb Energy was annoying when she can get her hit points back, but she doesn't have any defense against direct damage which the NR squad has access to. The Old Republic player was unlucky in some respects, but the New Republic player (ie me) made a mistake that allowed the Klaatoinian Captain to splash out a lot of my fodder early and lose my activation advantage, and I think the New Republic should win the matchup the majority of the time.

I know it's not much data, and I'm still expecting it to be one of the most popular squads this season, meaning it's probably a gatekeeper (I think, if my terminology is correct?) to be mindful of when choosing squads, but I think she's cool.

She went 3-0 at HammerCon, although no three point wins and a lucky crit by the Klat sealed the victory in the final vs my R.N.A.F.

Bloody shame really that the Klat got off the lucky crit, as Carth would have died and I would have eeked out a patient 39-37 win instead of a 24-10 loss. OR is a real bad match-up but not insurmountable, as I had played Steve earlier in the week.

Satele was fun to play at Minis Mania, and she's a good piece. Definitely not drastically undercosted, though, and she really does run out of Force Points pretty quickly against shooters. Against a melee-heavy team she's pretty strong, and against a shooter-heavy team she's great as long as her FP hold out, but that isn't that long.

Looking forward to see how successful others are with her.
