one of the bummers of not having stats up, is no comments to learn people's opinions on vset pieces.

how do people feel about the new Leia?

I want to like her, but she seems hard to pick over process Leia. her ce is difficult to utilize, and none of the older versions seem that much better from her particular skill options.

on the other hand, I feel like versatile must be a meta shifter...

I really like her a lot. She gives the rebels a lot more variety in having commander effects. She also makes the older peices a lot more fun to play. Leia Organa, Senator can get both Cunning Attack and the CE which is awesome when you purposefully use Momaw Nadon to put 10 damage on her to activate her CE and give a nice damage boost. With Diplomat, she is hard to kill, and with Cunning attack, she can actually hurt. Its just one of many fun options to use with her. I think Versatility is one of the coolest SA's to come out, but I would caution it not to be given out too much since it would make the game really complicated if we had a lot more. Camaraderie is also a SA i really love, as it is a great way to still give bonus's in the advent of Bastilla ruining the Rebels competitive edge.

Rebels can get some great damage potential now. Combine the new Leia, with the new Han to bring back Han, RH. And really, some of the older Leia's have some great CE's. I tend to think the old Dr. E is a bit more easy to set up getting her CE to activate.

accurate shot commando, with Crix she is doing 30 damage a shot. Really good for a third or fourth shooter.

Do you guys anticipate her being key to the rebels comeback? does she come off as tier 1? do you feel like she can replace princess Leia, who has such a powerfull ce?

Laura and I made a squad which included her for Engineer to run back at minis mania. He went 2-2 and he could have won at least 1 of his losses (it came down to some made/missed saves).

I personally think that you have to haunt her and play crix so that she can use surprise attack potentially multiple times and have it do 30 each time.

Ig88
Ig88 (DT)
Crix
ERC
Leia Commando
Dodonna
Levitation Luke
Obi FG
Juno
Ugo

This is a very classic mid-range squad. Jack of all trades and no terrible match-ups. No match-ups that it dominates but competitive all the way around.

And you will certainly notice that there is no Reikken.

All in all it is a very solid benchmark for a newlook rebel squad. Def plenty of other ways to go with her but this was a good start and about the best you can do with an IG88 base in rebels.

But isn't that squad is still CE dependent? It doesn't address the bastilla problem that rebels are currently facing that took them out of top tier in the first place. Leia being a decent shooter is nice, but that build doesn't touch versatility ever, which seems like her primary functionality.

I don't see Versatility being used as a counter to other squads very often. Really, it would be versus Stealth-heavy squads only, just to bring in Leia of Cloud City.

Look at the other options:

Two Rebel Storm Leias - Both are far outclassed by the other Leias and won't see the table.

Rebel Hero - Perhaps useful against low-HP swarm squads where you'd often want to kill one enemy and then move to kill a second on the same turn. But it seems rare that this one would be chosen.

Princess Leia, Hoth Commander - good if you're running your own swarm or a non-unique with force points, but if so then the decision to use this is already made. You're just using Versatility to hand her Cunning or Accurate.

Leia Organa, Senator - A great piece on its own, but that's because it's only 7 points. But 19 points seems like a lot even with the CE and an extra SA.

So basically, keep Commando Leia, take anti-Stealth Leia to counter your opponent, or take Hoth Commander who you were going to take anyway. Those are my thoughts anyway. Anybody see Rebel Hero or the Diplomat getting much play via Versatility?

I could def see the diplomat if you wanted to build to abuse the new CE. But only if you have a way to damage her yourself. It can be very difficult to kill a diplomat so this could be the basis of a really good squad.

I remember a friend once described to me a Jacen Solo squad which used a Muun Tactics Broker+a Gonk Droid Round 1 to damage Diplomat Leia and kill the Broker so that Jacen immediately had his Protective. Something like that might be interesting with the new Commando Leia as a Diplomat. (In a Rebel squad, I know new Leia's CE wouldn't work in the NR.)

But I'm a huge fan of versatility and I hope it will be on a Luke Skywalker at some point.

Here's the main problem I see with the new Leia. You look at what she can actually boost, and you will see a lot of single/Double attackers. And with GOWK, and to a lesser extent, Zannah, those big hits on relatively fragile pieces, won't cut it. Galen may, maybe a possibility, but it will be rough.
