Yes. The door that R2 lands next to open's at the end of the turn. His override ability takes place at the same time (at the end of the turn). As the controller, you chose which events take place, and what in order. So the situation you just described can be done if you chose to allow the door you move next to to open first.

Obviously, there are certain situations where this wouldn't work. For example, if R2 ended his move next to a door that was overrided closed by another piece, R2 would have to override that door in order to open it, and then could not chose to override another door on the other side of it. Just depends on the scenario.

My friends and I discussed this and we concluded that you can't do this. If I remember correctly (I am not quoting), Override occurs at the end of a character's turn.

However, I the rule book states "If a character ends its turn next to a door, the door is now open." In other words, if a character ends his turn next to a door, then, after the character's turn is ended, the door opens, not at the end of his turn (which would be the last action the character takes while it is still his turn, not after his turn is ended).

If what I said above is true, then the override happens first and the door opening because you ended your turn next to it would happen second, making the original scenario impossible.

Incorrect. Door Check and Override both happen at the end of a character's turn, so they are simultaneous, and you can choose which one to resolve first. This is covered in the FAQ, and has been around since the beginning of the game.

You concluded wrong.

They both happen simultaneously, so the acting player would choose the order in which they would occur.

Thought this was in the FAQ, but couldn't find it. Best material i can find to back up my statement is this old post with a few posts by Nickname agreeing (or not disagreeing) with the idea that you could resolve the regular door check first, and then override second.
