Yeah, I have had this problem too, most of the time it has just been from lack of knowledge about the game. My group used to say override could go to any door because we thought "see" meant like oversee. Also I used to think anyone with a gun had a "mounted weapon" so they could be healed by industrial repair. That was changed quickly. One person in my group thought you could always have Rebel and NR people together.

Most of the problems were your mistakes if I recall correctly Flapper

I think you were the one that did the doors thing, we all did but you specifically. And when we first started playing we didn't play with activations, so one person's squad would move all of their people and slaughter the other's, needless to say, the games only lasted half an hour.

I made so many mistakes when I first learned the game... Thud Bugs, Targeting Rules, Faction Rules...

Thankfully, the glossary managed to straighten me out.

Yeah, that used to be me.

@Sithborg, that's funny Laugh

Oh man, using "Lightsaber" with a non-melee attack has always been troublesome for people. There are players here that still need to be reminded that you can't parry Mara Jedi Jedi's attacks, lol

I will say it and Aurra Sing CS were two of the early mistakes in design. The common sense vs game mechanics caused a headache for years.

I was so upset when, not too long after I started playing, I bought along Anakin Champion of Nelvaan to a Battle Royale/Royal Rumble. Mara won initiative within 6 of him, hit him for 120 damage, and he couldn't block or djem so, and was removed from the board without achieving anything.

I wouldn't go so far as to call Lightsaber SA's mechanics a mistake, but they should have stipulated in the SA text "This is a nonmelee attack".

That was you, young man! Kez had to calm me down by explaining that you have to imagine it like she's using her lightsaber to stop you protecting yourself with yours, while she shoots you with her blaster. It's even rougher on Vader Scourge, as he can't use his Dark Armor against her when she's adjacent either, so she pretty much negates all his SAs/FPs. Both Scourge and CoN are 120 HP, so Mara can decimate them in one phase if she rolls well.

I will go that far. It's a cause for confusion, and making it a melee attack would have both made a lot more sense and made her more balanced.

(Looks at Poisoned Blade)

Yeah, that's a bunch of rubbish. Right up there with how the Modern Melee Reach is less useful than the first incarnation of the ability.

I do remember the days of crits doubling bonuses. Whether or not you were an ally to yourself (goes with which version of Force Valor is correct). Of SA's granted by CE's not stacking with other CE's, whether it was a bonus or another SA granted via CE.

So, I remember fondly the days in Charlotte of the non-clarified Thrawn Swap where ewoks were swapped for Dark Troopers P3's. (note: I am aware of the small problems here before you point it out) Thankfully, this wasn't me. Mostly because I didn't have him at the time.

Also the Lightning 2 which may be choose up two others to affect and people choosing only the target because their allies were next to it.

It was great being naive.

Lol, glad I wasn't alone. So easy to nerf it with a mouse droid. Angry

Back in the day: we used to think that Force Weapon stacked and that the Human Force Adept was the coolest piece out there! You could sacrifice Obiwan to get all those extra force points and then Force Weapon her up for like 80+ damage a shot. Awesome!

We thought Force Renewal happened at the end of the turn.

We didn't think that Darth Bane was a 'follower'

...and we thought that Darth Vader killed Luke Skywalker's dad (until we saw ESB).

You're not the only one to misunderstand Force Weapon. Crying That was so cool before I knew how it really worked.

Oh that's all you did Scared one time I was playing and still didn't know about force weapon... the guy I was playing with put three of them with palps on throne and well you know... Fortunately I locked them in a room and they couldn't get out. Needless to say he has always played with several ugnaught demolitionists ever since then. I think some of the people in my group are still confused about this.

And what do you mean about Renewal not coming at the end of the characters turn. Do you mean it comes at the beginning?Confused

Yes, Renewal happens when the character activates.
