If I show up to Gen Con with a squad, but have not played in any of the tournaments leading up to gencon, can i not participate in the big yearly tournament? Do you have to be placed in "regional" or whatever in order to play? sorry, i don't really know much of the structure of the tournament play outside of it all coming to a head at gencon.

Nope, there is no qualification for playing in the Championship tournament at GenCon. The winner of each Regional gets a free 4-day badge to GenCon and a event ticket to the Championship, but you don't have to have played in a Regional to play the the Championship.

How does one compete in regionals? Thanks, btw.

To compete in the regional, just look at the regional threads and figure out where/when/which regionals you are able to attend. Then show up with your squad (and map from whichever sublist that regional is running) and hulk smash your way to the win :)
At least, that's how I do it.

At least, that's how I do it. Did you win a Regional with Mace? I thought it was only Lancers, Echani and Rebels
