Sounds to me like bringing up DeathsBaine in this whole issue was my fault. I'm just going to stay out of whatever is going on with Deathsbaine/designers and stick with the unique competition idea.

Fwiw I like the idea. It's a little late to do it for set 6 but the set 7 designers are just now starting to figure out what they want to do so they may jump at the idea.

by problems you mean I called the designers dumb in a private message, nothing was spoiled, I did not leak anything at all, and never have. you are just mad that I do not see eye to eye with you all and that I openly criticize some of what you all are doing to the game.

So it seems your inability to phrase your opinion about a piece with proper restraint and respect ended up hurting Bronson's access to design.

I think there is something you can learn from this.

I've worked with probably more designers on v-sets than anyone, and discussions have gotten heated many times, but name calling is and never should be tolerated, especially when it's just opinions.

Work with people, debate, argue, disagree, all fine; but as soon as you degenerate into name calling and belittling your opinion counts for naught. In a constructive project there is no room or tolerance for destructive language or behavior.

Its a long, difficult process with probably more stress involved than many people realize. Adding stress by being hostile makes you a poor team player and this is and always will be a collaboration.

Next time you accentuate your opinion with derogatory speech, stop and press delete. It makes things a hell of a lot smoother. The entire internet could do with learning that lesson.

Playtesting is the best way to "get on the bus". Once you are on board you can do more. Playtesting is one of the most important parts of the process. We expect playtesters to put it the work and provide good thought out feed back. Once you prive that you can be part of a team we can always find more for you to do.

One things that helps is actually getting out there meeting people that help are working on things. That means you might have to go to a regional or GenCon.

considering it was a private message to someone outside the design team this has no bearing on what happened, great information and well put, but this was supposed to be a private matter that turned public.

You know, things are so much better now than when I first became a mod here. No way this thread would have survived to page 3 back then. (either that or it would have reached 12 pages in 3 minutes)

I've been in 3 organizations in my life where I've been trusted with sensitive information and public relations were important. My current position at my company as a software engineer, a high ranking brother in my college fraternity, and a designer/lead playtester on the v-set project. One of the key things I've learned from these positions is that there are two kinds of conversations; inward-facing conversations, where members of the organization are talking amongst themselves, and outward-facing conversations, where you're talking with people NOT in the organization. It doesn't matter if its a private conversation or a big public announcement, if you make negative comments in an outward-facing conversation, that's a serious issue. If I'm just talking casually with one of my friends who happens to be associated in some way with a client for work and I make negative comments about my employer, I will get fired. There is no such thing as public or private conversations when you're dealing with priveledge information, only whether its an inward facing or outward facing conversation.

Something to think about.

At this point, it sounds to be more of an issue of Gamers moderation than actual design. If you know your history, you will know mods on both sites have NO tolerance for people accessing other's accounts.

I will consider cleaning this thread up later, but for now, it is being closes, as these issues are best dealt with via PM.
