This came up in a recent game. If a character is removed from play and defeated (ie. via MTB) can it still make an avoid defeat or similar type of save? The way my play-group has played this is that as the character is 1st removed from play, then defeated, that any save wont mater and that character can't save itself from death. Are we right or wrong?

well sort of. The character removed from play (tactics broker or whatever) still self-destructs or any other defeated things that happens. It just can't come back with any sort of save.
