Echani Handmaiden. Fantastic SAs held back by low Atk and Damage. (HP+Def are mostly covered with Evade). Happily, that's correctable with Atris. Throw in General veers to give them accurate, Thrawn (IE) for Opportunist, and Jabba (AE) for Cunning. You can also use Pellaeon for Force protection. There are also many other boosts available , both in Empire and other factions.

I think that Klatooinian Assassin is pretty good, since if they have cover, they cannot be killed except by adjacent enemies -- which triggers their Self-Destruct. They also can be boosted rather well.

Kel-Dors are similar, but they'd need another support character.

It entirely depends on the squad you are running and what you are trying to do. If its a swap squad Rodian Brutes and/or Gran Raiders are extremely important. If you need Mouse Droids for their relay orders or cheap activations they could be the most important. Uggnaught Demolitionists will never go out of style and get dropped in squads almost as often as anything. R7's are critical if you need door control. Even though these aren't attackers they are non-unique fringed followers and arguably more valuable than any fringe attacker.

The Echanis are cool but they are dependant on Atris to be a significant threat. The Klatooinian Assassin's are very much in vogue right now and very well will remain that way. IG-86's are certainly still quite viable particularly in Sep squads.

Don't forget about other niche pieces like Amanin Scouts or Muun Tactics Brokers who can take a squad from really good to great by filling a significant role.

Ugnaughts and Mice are clearly the best.

They are very strong.
Shame they didn't use the Enforcer for the RM, so it could have gone from the worst to the best in one fell swoop.

Uggie Droid Destroyers are pretty good. +8 attack on a 7pt piece, easily boostable, Jolt, Droid hate. ThumpUp
Keep some in your Lobot pool.

Yeah one my friends said that when i asked him why he was using it.
"If it has more has more attack than it's point cost..."

Good tip. I guess that accounts for Rodian Brutes as well. (also perfect and dirt cheap swap fodder)

My prefered non-unique fringe piece has always been the Uggnaught Droid Destroyer. +8 attack isn't bad for 7pts and Jolt is huge. I've won games because I jolted one of my opponents key pieces late in the game. They also have 16 def and 20 hp, so these are really solid stats for a reinforcement.

IG-86 assassin droid. Pieces like uggs, mice, and R7 are imperative to the competitive game, but if your looking for the best non-unique fringe follower based upon it's own merits, it's IG-86. It has a great DEF and decent ATK & DAM on it's own, but start with adding CEs it gets stupidly powerful. What piece would you rather have remaining last rounds, a mouse droid?

^ Another reason why the UDD is such a nice reinforcements option. BigGrin

I've seen the Twi'lek Black Sun Vigo used pretty effectively, especially when you run two. The first one jolts, the second one gets opportunist.

or with a czerka scientist one twilek can jolt and then hit with opportunist.

TBSV are awesome figs, probably not as effective these days but i had a load of squads that used his CE.

Any fringe bodyguard is often a great choice for reinforcements.
Treadwells are game winners when you are facing a stealth swarm.

The question is so open ended. What do you want? Tech? Support? Firepower?

There is something for everyone in the fringe.
