This is from the Death Shot/Self Destruct thread.
===

Suppose a Wookiee Jedi with 20hp remaining and both Cleave and Rolling Cleave (from Ahsoka) kills a Klat Assassin with death shots. At step 13 in resolving effects, there are 4 simultaneous effects to resolve:

Cleave,
Rolling Cleave,
Self Destruct,
Death Shot

How exactly is the order determined?

Suppose the Wookiee Jedi player wants this order:
Death Shot (to prevent the Klat from attacking someone else, and hoping the Klat misses)
Rolling Cleave (to move and make both the Rolling Cleave and Cleave attacks against a character a square away)
Cleave
Self Destruct (so that the Wookiee has moved away before the self destruct happens)

Suppose the Klat Assassin player wants this order:
Self Destruct (to guarantee a kill against the Wookiee and prevent the Cleave attacks)
Death Shot (against another character)
Cleave (cancelled)
Rolling Cleave (cancelled)

How exactly are things resolved? I know the Wookiee is allowed to move away with rolling cleave to avoid the self-destruct, so in that sense he chooses what happens first. But in the other thread, it was stated that the Klatooinian Assassin decides the order of the Death Shot and the Self Destruct. So how exactly is it resolved?

Here's the thing, the "active" player moves around a lot. In this situation, the attacker could choose to resolve his abilities first, and in a preferred order. A good guide is that you control the resolution of your own abilities, and in a conflict between two players, who ever initiatied the action (in this case, the attack, can also be use an SA) has the choice.

i'd also like to confirm something like this, are you able to move an R7 adjacent to a door, have that door open, then overide another door you only would have sight to if the door you are adjacent to opens?

Yes. Those are simultaneous effects and you can choose to have the door check before choosing your Override.

Thanks. That helps. Some related questions - sorry for asking so much. This seems to be a tricky situation.

Do you have to resolve all of your abilities at once?
If you give an opponent the opportunity to resolve abilities, can you interrupt them after the first effect?
Can you take back the offer after you see what their choice is?
Do you have to announce the entire order of the effects at the outset, or can you decide as you go?

In other words, is this legal:

0. The attacking player (Wookiee) chooses which player resolves an ability. The attacking player chooses to let the enemy resolve an effect (hoping it's a Death Shot). The enemy announces Self-Destruct, so the attacking player changes his mind and chooses to resolve one of his own effects instead.
1. The attacking player chooses to resolve their own Rolling Cleave.
2. The attacking player chooses to let the enemy resolve an ability. The enemy chooses to resolve Self-Destruct.
3. The attacking player chooses to resolve their own ability next. The attacking player chooses to resolve Cleave.
4. The attacking player chooses to let the enemy resolve their last effect: death shot.

(I see lots of references to the 'rule for resolving simultaneous effects' but I couldn't find it spelled out in detail other than that "the active player decides".)

i am pretty sure at the very least that the bolded part could not happen. As there is already a few areas that contradict it being able to happen. IT would be like defering for side on a map and then seeing where your opponent picks and saying wait no i dont want to do that. OR playing with dodanna and deciding to move only 1 piece, failing to kill the piece you intended and saying well i want to activate the 2nd one.

I would think the acting player chooses who resolves their stuff first, then that player resolves everything (for that step) followed by the other player. (then proceed to next step)

I could see it going any of several ways (ability-by-ability or character-by-character or player-by-player), but unless there's an official ruling saying otherwise I'll go with what you said... player-by-player.
