Hello all,
I'm new to this site and have never played SWM before but I collected the Rebel, Imperial, Fringe, and New Republic factions up until the 30th anniversary set was released with those square bases. I also have the Attack on Endor, Battle of Hoth, and AT-AT pieces and maps. I just got my collection out of storage and would like to attempt playing some games with friends.
I did a solo play through of the "Rescue the Princess" scenario found in the Rebel Storm Rulebook and have a very good understanding of almost all the mechanics. Low objects and cover. I understand if they are standing on a square with low objects or adjacent behind low objects, they are given cover. I also understand that low cover adjacent to the attacker is ignored. What about low objects in the middle of the battle grid that happens to be in the line of sight? Is that considered to be cover or does the attacker "shoot over" those low objects?
Once this is cleared up, I will be ready to go. Thanks for your time!

Low objects in between do grant cover to the target.

To expand a bit, how you determine cover is that you pick one corner of a square the attacker occupies and draw lines to all parts of the defender's square(s). If any of those lines pass through another character, a wall, or low objects, then the defender has cover.
