He's funny for small children. Even so, that's not reason enough to paint him as the character that ruined Star Wars is it? He represents the worst of the prequel trilogy. Bad dialogue, annoying charaacters (read: Anakin), etc. Not that all of the dialogue was bad or all of the characters were annoying but enough were.

Thank goodness he didn't ruin Star Wars...but he came pretty darn close in P.M. He would have been funny for one maybe two episodes of the clone wars, but seriously? An entire movie where we have to put up with him? That's way over the top. And, to agree with Corran, yes when I was five and saw him I thought he was funny, but when I watched the movie a few months ago I wanted to jump into the screen take one of those bouncy blue balls the gungans were throwing at the battle droids and taze him repeatedly.

I don't understand the Jar Jar hate. He probably got too much screen time, but he's way less annoying than child Anakin. And not even comparable to the awkward Anakin and Padme scene on Naboo.

Jar Jar was just unnecessary, I think he was a failed attempt to replace C-3PO, anyway they didn't give him much of a role in the other movies.

Indifferent, hated EP:1 so boring, meh'd at EP:2 except once they get to geonosis and kenobi on kamino, Loved Ep:3 I think that balances out to indifferent.
