Guys, I haven't played this game in so many years. I thought the community was completely gone, and I just discovered this forum today. This. Is. Awesome.

The V-sets are the continuation of the game by SWMGamers after WotC stopped producing the game. There have been 5 sets of 60 cards and a few mini sets and set 6 will be released soon. They are all tournament legal with printed cards produced via donations from the community (or pdfs you can print yourself) They are very fun, and have helped level the competitive playing field (as well as keeping the game going)

You can see all the stats for every piece here on BlooMilk, the names are Destiny of the Force, Renegades and Rogues, Vengeance, Scum and Villainy, and Galactic Heroes. The mini Sets are Epic Sets I and II (not legal outside of special Epic events usually) Battle of Theed, Jedi vs Sith, Cantina Brawl, and the Old Republic, as well as 2 cards from the "Bounty Hunter's Challenge" which are a 100 point Luke Skywalker and a 100 point Darth Sidious.

Thanks! That's awesome. I really can't tell you how excited I am to see this game living on like this. After WotC stopped production a lot of the forums I followed slowly died off. This really is great!

And if you are interested in getting the printed cards (they look great!) you can message engineer and he can help you out or if you just want to see all the cards in PDF form head over to www.swmresources.con

It's good to see an old member returning. Are you part of a group? If not then print the first Vset (destiny of the force) from online and ask Engineer for the other sets as I think he still has some of the HQ printed cards to give away, well he's post about it is still up anyway.

If you are a part of a group of players then I strongly suggest you only use 1 vset at a time and when you are familiar with all the rules from that set then add the next set and so on. Adding 5-6 sets of vsets cards plus mini and epic sets all at once if not the best way to do it, I have heard of one or two Uk groups that did that with the first 3 sets, none are still around.

Welcome back to the game, also have a look over on the customs thread for some really good fan made customs of the vset characters. ThumpUp

A link to the online sets if you want to have a look or print your own sets.

Edit
Well Andy beat me too it for the link and advise about Engineer. I really hope you like the vsets as a lot of work and time went into them. just remember that WOTC did some minis not to everyone's liking and vsets are the same, but overall they do add a lot to the game.

The printed Vset cards are pretty incredible - high quality glossy printing. Way better than what WotC put out. Pretty sure there aren't any more printed copies of Destiny of the Force available (have to print those yourself), but as mentioned, Engineer should be able to hook you up with the rest. The printed cards are free (to avoid commercializing things and getting on the bad side of Lucas, I presume), so just ask and you'll get them. However, they're only available because the community donates enough money to get them printed, so if you like them please donate for future sets.

All of you who have groups to play with are so lucky!! I have a collection in display of these miniatures mainly because I was never able to get into playing this game, that's because I live in Miami, and well, Miami kind of sucks when it comes to these kinds of things...

I do indeed. And I agree, Miami does suck. It's a Naruto/Pokemon/CCG town. At least my neck of the woods is.

Which begs the question, what part if Miami does this member reside?

While Vassal does work, it is nowhere near as fun as meeting up with people in person and playing a game.

Sorry everyone, I was out of town! Thanks a ton with the info on the V Sets, I'll have to look into that for sure! I currently am in Dallas, TX on summer break, but during the Fall and Spring semesters, I live in College Station, TX. Anyone else from there?
