Not sure how its played at tournaments or other casual games but when players go through a round of activations with their characters, at the start of a new round they have to follow the same pattern correct?

I'm not sure I follow. Can you give an example?

Let's say your squad has a battle droid, super battle droid, security battle droid and a battle droid officer. After initiative is determined you decide to move the battle droid and super battle droid first. Then after your opponent moves his two pieces you move your security battle droid and battle droid officer. Assuming no character is defeated, after you start a new round, do you have to follow the same order i.e battle droid, super battle droid, security battle droid and battle droid officer for the remainder of the skirmish?

No, you can change your activation order every round you do not have to activate them in the same exact order.

Yes, I can imagine how that would make a difference. However, that sounds like an interesting way to play... How has it worked out for you?

It really makes you think about who to activate first whether it be your commanders to move them into a better position or your heavy hitters etc. Our group has played like that thinking that was the actual rule so we have a few strategies...myself I try to spread my commanders around and usually save my heavy hitters for first and last with the fillers in between but I encourage you to try it and see what you think :)

Huh, that actually does sound like a really neat variant. I'm sure the decision making process of the order to activate things in the first round is really, really deep. I would love to try that sometime.

I have question... I heard there's a rule used usually nowadays where the first turn of a round only gets 1 activation. Now, does something like Tarkins CE override that?

That is in official tournaments, (though FlyingArrow and I also use it in our casual games) if you go first you get one activation, certain CEs can alter that (Like Tarkin)

Ok, yeah me and my friends usually play that way, and I was curious as to how Tarkin etc. would effect that. Thanks!
