Just thinking about the many, many levels of rock-paper-scissors embedded in the squadbuilding in this game. These are generalizations (not always true), and in any squad you try balance all of them.
Force Users > Non-force Users > Force Immune > Force Users Shooters > Melee w/o big movement breakers > Melee w/big movement breakers to get close > Shooters One High cost piece (> 40) > Mutliple mid-cost (20-40) > Many low cost (<20) > High cost (> 40) Defensive Tank > Big Damage Attacker > Less Direct Damage > Defensive Tank Strafer > Swarm > Concentrated 1-on-1 attacker > Strafer
Or thinking about types of offense and types of defense... Evader > Shooter > Parry > Melee > Evader Many small shots > LS Defense > One big shot > Armor > Many small shots
Some of those are more idealized than reality (i.e. what I think should be something). What sort of rock-paper-scissors do you think should be in the game? What are the most important facets of the rock-paper-scissors in the current meta?
