However, in Star Wars Miniatures, Separatists suit my playstyle perfectly, and this squad is a good reflection of why. It has virtually unbeatable activation and initiative control, and has flexible offense. My opponent cannot stymie all my gimmicks simply because I have so many (any squad that can disrupt my Poggle bombs probably can't handle Grievous, or anything that can kill Grievous will have trouble with the Poggle Bombs, etc.) My preferred reinforcements are the Muun Tactics Broker (to all but guarantee winning initiative so I can extend with Grievous) and four grunts who will blow open doors, serve as cover for Cad Bane, or just generally serve as Tactics Broker fodder until I can start using the Broker to blow up Geonosians in my opponent's face one by one. I can also use him to kill San Hill if I get into a brawl and San Hill restricts me. Another reinforcement alternative if I choose to not use the Broker would be Wicket; I can run him up into the enemy squad to help Grievous' relatively low attack on the gallop. Grievous himself is a very versatile and potent threat. He's taken can take on entire squads by himself backed by activation and initiative control. Thanks to his non-melee status, he cannot be riposted and he can combine fire with the BX spotter to finish off something crucial. His DR 10 protects him from shooters, and if he is up against Jedi he can switch to Hero of Hypori, which can deal with them with Parry and Jedi Hunter. Cad Bane makes an excellent backup for Grievous as he has a far reach and can hit multiple enemies at once for a solid amount of damage. The main thing I'm considering changing is the BX Commando Droid Spotter. Depending on the map, he's excellent for tacking on an extra 20 damage to a character with Grievous' gallop or Cad's Furious Assault to take something down immediately, but often times he's just sitting around not contributing much. I just can't think of something in that point range that would be really helpful.

The Shieldy can't combine fire with Grievous, due to Mounted Weapon. I'd suggest maybe taking him out.

Apologies for threadjacking - but this is my idea for Grievous.
I agree that Poggle/MTB/San Hill is the way to go - I went with Whorm/IG-86s as support. It's arguable whether I get enough out of Whorm in this build. But the IG-86s do have potential for double/twin, so they can put a big hit on something, which complements Grievous's strafe.

(200pts. 25 activations) Apology accepted Yeah I saw your build and thought it was interesting. I'm unsure which build is better, but I'm more concerned with how to make Wheelbike + Cad as good as it can be rather than comparing it to Grievous + IG-86s. The trouble I've always had with Double Attack IG-86s is they usually either get Opportunist or Double, but not both. I wonder if there's a different droid that would do the trick..... What I do like about the direction the V-set designers have gone is they're moving towards less reliance on CEs. Cad Bane is great, but its frustrating how he doens't really benefit from any Separatist commanders, and I'm so used to building my squads by stacking CEs. Having a standalone good piece is refreshing.

Aurra Sing, Assassin would be great in the original squad - she has the ability to put a big hit on something - which is what your squad is kind of missing at the moment. But I think you'd have to drop too many activations to fit her, and you'd lose your original concept.
Other stuff that benefits from Cad's CE and could work: Rodian Assassin - can put an accurate hit on something. Greedo Bounty Hunter - can stick something.

Yeah, the slaver is so useful for the drones though. I always find that my drones lag behind, and this will give them a needed boost. But, if it worked with the sniper, oh the possibilities.

He could hang out with the Spotter for safety from shields, would be more likely to get Merciless after Grievous gallops and Spinning Blades, so he can be a finisher for 60 dmg. You probably already out-activate, but he would all but guarantee it since he could steal the opponent's mouse dump, or steal his MTB to guarantee you win init. If you don't need to steal anything, a Massiff can be another finisher on mid-range previously-galloped pieces (range 8 for +10/30dmg). This does get away from the Grievous/Cad idea, though. But I think Cad might not be the best match for Grievous - they both spread out their attacks, so they kind of do the same job. You'd want a focused attacker. Probably either original Cad Bane (sacrifice a few drones to make room) or new Aurra Sing.

I was playing with Cad Bane/Rodian Assassins/Maul on Speeder last night - it was fun, because Cad Bane and the Rodians could clear the way for Maul Sith Infiltrator to put the big hit on something. So in living Seps you have fodder clearers: Cad Bane Bounty Hunter Grievous on Wheel Bike Durge on Speeder And big hitters: Sidious Chancellor Aurra Sing Assassin Durge Jedi Hunter Grievous of Hypori Maul Sith Infiltrator Asajj Ventress, Nightsister
