Trandoshan & Mercenary Interactions Options

I found some interesting potential among the 3 pieces below but its techie enough that Im unsure of the interactions.

1. Can the TEMs use Ambush in conjunction with Double Claw Attack?
2. Can the TEMs use Furious Assault with Double Claw Attack?
3. Does Rend tie into either scenario?

Trandoshan Hunt Master 25
Hit Points: 70
Defense: 16
Attack: 8
Damage: 20
Special Abilities
Ambush (This character can move and then make all his attacks against 1 enemy who has not activated this round)
Bounty Hunter +2 (+2 Attack against Unique enemies)
Double Claw Attack (On his turn, this character can make 1 extra attack instead of moving; both attacks must be against adjacent enemies)
Regeneration 10 (If this character doesn't move on his turn, remove 10 damage from him at the end of that turn)
Rend +10 (If both of his attacks hit the same adjacent enemy, this character's second attack gets +10 Damage)
Commander Effect
Trandoshan allies gain Bounty Hunter +2. Bounty Hunter followers within 6 gain squares Ambush.

Defense: 17
Attack: 7
Damage: 20
Special Abilities
Double Claw Attack (On his turn, this character can make 1 extra attack instead of moving; both attacks must be against adjacent enemies)
Mercenary (This character can move only if he cannot make an attack from his starting space)
Mighty Swing (On his turn, if this character doesn't move, he gets +10 Damage against adjacent enemies)
Regeneration 10 (If this character doesn't move on his turn, remove 10 damage from him at the end of that turn)
Rend +10 (If both of his attacks hit the same adjacent enemy, this character's second attack gets +10 Damage)

Mercenary Commander 24

Deadeye (On this character's turn, if he doesn't move, he gets +10 Damage)
Furious Assault (Replaces turn: Can move up to double speed, then attack each legal target once)
Mercenary (This character can move only if he cannot make an attack from his starting space)
Commander Effect
Followers with Mercenary within 6 squares gain Deadeye and Furious Assault.

I would say:
1) Unsure
2) DCA doesn't work with Furious Assault since it's a replace turn ability.

1. Yes, Double Claw is just a more limited version of Double Attack.
2. No.
3. Only with Ambush and Double Claw Attack.

I've often looked for a good build to use a TEM as a swap piece, but haven't found it. Mercenary is of course a horrendous handicap, but if you swap him into place (or levitate I guess), he can do 70 damage all by himself, which is pretty amazing for a 17 point piece. But you also need to boost his low attack.
