If you missed the boat, 500 more copies are being printed up and will be on the shelves at miniature market. Steve was leary at first, but I convinced him, and I am not taking a commision for it, its all out of the goodness of my gigantic generous heart. So PLEASE go show Miniaturemarket.com some love and get you a copy if you missed out last time. Should be up next week. and buy other stuff there too so he doesn't think he made a stupid investment! Even if you already have it, go buy another one.

In terms of maps, Map Pack 4 is the best buy around.

4 double-sided maps. 5 of the 8 total maps are currently on the restricted list (I could see the case for one or more of them to rotate out) but they are all quality, balanced maps.

No figures - just maps. I say it's the best buy around for several reasons...
* It's "Strongholds and Fortresses". So each place represents the sort of place where a battle would naturally take place. * The layouts of the maps are for the most part great for skirmishes. The 'restricted' list is a list of maps that are most balanced for skirmish play. Some maps are unbalanced either left/right where one side gets a strong advantage. Others are unbalanced in that a particular squad type gets a very strong advantage (such as shooters or IG Lancer squads, etc.). 5 maps out of 8 are on that restricted list. * The variety. Map Pack 3 was cool for having 4 maps that could be laid out for a huge massive battle, but it meant that 4 of the maps were visually very similar, whereas here all 8 are completely different. * The artwork. Map Packs 1 and 2 are great, too, but the artwork stepped up considerably between Map Pack 2 and Map Pack 4. (Of course, you can't find map packs 1 and 2 anywhere now anyway.) * The price. Christopher West's maps are great, too, but the prices for his maps tend to be quite a bit more.
So based on all that, Map Pack 4 should be anyone's first map purchase for Star Wars Minis maps.
Now ignore my commercial and instead go support the Map Pack 5 kickstarter so we can make sure that happens!

I have heard about it but know nothing else You can check out the map discussion forum and look for the threads for Rhen Var Citadel, Asteroid Base and Peaceful City. All of those threads have images and discussion about those 3 maps. In addition to those 3, Jabba's Palace and Bothan Spynet are the other maps in map pack 4 that are currently on the restricted list (meaning legal for tournament play). From my experience there is no better bang for your buck in terms of map purchases out there and I would highly reccomend it to anyone that doesn't own these maps. I'm very excited about map pack 5 but I don't anticipate it being able to surpass map pack 4 in usefulness because the bar was set so high.

There are a couple sleepers in there, furthermore, Map Pack 3 was our best seller mainly due to the compatibility of the 4 connectible maps. Beleive it or not there is a WHOLE WORLD out there still playing SWM and they aren't playing tourneys, they are playing at home for fun. Nothing screams fun like a giant map full of SW dudes. Not to mention the RPG applications alone...

I do now... thanks. I thought the last time we were down there you said we were close. Maybe I'm thinking of when we go to OC Md. Gaw! What can I do about this old age forgetting stuff? Wheat beer therapy, perhaps?
