Question #1: does Kelborn still get twin from a scientist when adjacent?
My thinking was that he would for the same interaction of lightsaber throw and adaptive shields. (Lightsaber throw [even though it counts as non melee] gets around adaptive shields because of melee on the card). So that thinking leads me to believe that gauntlet knife (even though it counts as melee) would still benifit from the scientist because of not having melee on the card. Please if this is not the case, can someone explain how these are different as they sound the same interaction to me.
Question #2: Kelborn against Jareal. Jareal can evade if Kelborn atks her from non adjacent, but can also parry when Kelborn is adjacent. Is there anyway around this? Is gauntlet knife an option? Can I choose to disregard the 10 extra damage to deal with someone who has parry?

1. No. Gauntlet Knife is like Poisoned Blade. It changes his base damage. Also, like Poisoned Blade, it is treated as if he had Melee Attack, so no Combined Fire either.
2. Gauntlet Knife is mandatory, just like Poisoned Blade.

Well I guess its nice to know that if Kelborn is adjacent to a character benefitting from Adaptive Shields that he wouldn't lose Twin if he gets it from the Captain.
