"Characters in the squad" includes characters that have been defeated, correct? "Living characters" refers to, well, living characters. Non-droids, non-mounted weapon.

Yes to question one as some effects now continue after a character has been defeated. However for the most part it is "characters in play". Living characters is also correct, which was always strange to me as some Mounted Weaponed minis include a living character on the base. but you are playing it right.

(I was looking for the term to put in a custom SA that compares the number of characters each side has in play.)
