1) Does a chameleon droid provide cover?

2) Can a character shoot (non-melee attack or use a force power) through a chameleon droid (if they would be the legal target) at another enemy if they don't have accurate shot or sniper?

1.yes
2. If the droid is adjacent you have to attack nearest enemy. And if you don't have accurate/sniper it's still the nearest enemy even if its not adjacent

Yes, it provides cover. Nothing in Invisibility would get around the normal targeting rules, so you would still have to pick either a target with no cover or the closest enemy.

So...if I run allies behind him, character's can not target them unless they have accurate shot or sniper, right? In essence, you are creating a force field.

This is incorrect. First, a character with Invisibility never counts as the nearest enemy, thus the next nearest character is the nearest.

Second, you got the rule wrong. The targeting rules states that you must target ADJACENT characters first. And then you may target enemies in cover ONLY if they are the nearest enemy. You can target enemies without cover all day.

No. While a character with Invisibility does provide cover, they themselves are never the nearest enemy, thus it would fall to the next closest enemy to be the nearest enemy. The Chameleon Droid would only make someone untargetable if they themselves had an ability that made themselves untargetable.

To be fair, you may be mixing it up with the loophole involved with the Superstealth CE's. All abilities after Nom Anor like Cloaked, Diplomat, and Light Spirit have tried to avoid that little loophole.
