I was digging through the SWM Gamers Forums when I came across an old thread called “Interesting Topic #9 – RCM Booster Design”. Upon reading the thread (which can be found here:
http://www.swmgamers.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=10600 ) , I thought it would make a fun customizing competition. (Note: The original idea comes from The_Celestial_Warrior, I am simply recycling it into a competition.)
I've already run one of these
here and the other competitors as well as myself enjoyed it.
Here are the rules of the challenge, should you choose to accept it: (Some of these rules are based on those created by Deathwielded for the CCC’s).
1. Once you sign up, I will randomly select a set and draw a booster pack from that set. These 7 pieces are your RM’s; you come up with an original set of stats that is based on the original pieces. If this is a bit unclear, check either of the hyperlinks above and look at some examples, and it should become obvious what I mean.
2. The following rules apply to the characters you create:
a. The character must be canon.
b. You may update any existing character you already have and/or create new ones.
c. Please place hyperlinks in this forum to make it easier to find your characters.
d. For the Unique character you pull, that character may not be another version of that
character (for example: if I pull Darth Vader, Sith Lord from RS, I cannot create another
version of Darth Vader using DVSL as the recommend mini). This is simply to encourage
you to be creative.
3. In order to win the contest, you must vote on the overall quality of the 7 sets of stats made by each creator. Voting will look like this: "I rated so-and-so’s customs (A) an 8, so-and-so’s customs (B) a 9, and so-and-so’s customs (C) a 7. My vote goes to so-and-so’s customs (B). Each winning vote counts as 1 point. Please feel free to comment on why you made your choice, (what you liked), but since there will be many pieces from each creator, you can just put your scores. You must vote for all the sets of stats entered in the contest and you may not rate or vote for your own set of stats.
4. The winner will be decided by how many points they receive (for example: so-and-so’s customs (B) received 3 votes and thus won because that was the most votes of anyone)
5. You may not change or update the entered character AFTER the deadline (from now until a week from this Friday you may get advice and change your character accordingly) on Friday (1/17, NOT 1/10). From today (1/7) until Thursday 1/19, you may get advice and update characters as needed. Once the deadline comes on Friday, you may not change or update your entered characters. Voting will be held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to determine the winner.
6. There is no prize for winning, so just have fun and do your best!
