The Vassal Extension for V-Set 7 is now available for download at SWMResources.com. This file is updated with all the new V-Set 7 pieces (some with sound effects), along with a graphical indication to help make the BHC pieces more easy to recognize. How to install it:1. First delete your old file. Locate the place where your "SWMinis.vmod" file is located. For many of you this will be here: C:\[Username]\Program Files\VASSAL. In that place you will see a folder entitled, "SWMinis_ext". Open that folder and delete the "Virtual Sets.mdx" file. 2. Download the new file from here: Virtual Sets Extension and save it onto your desktop or another easy-to-find location. It will be a file called "VirtualSets.zip" 3. Unzip it. R-click the file and choose "Extract Here" or "Unzip Here." Then you will have a file on your desktop called, "Virtual Sets.mdx". 4. Take that file (Virtual Sets.mdx) and move it (ie, Copy and Paste) to the same "SWMinis_ext" folder that you deleted your old file from. 5. Start (or re-start) Vassal, and you're good to go. PS: check out the sound effect on Darth Bane, Sith'ari...it's not SW-themed, but I think it's fitting, judging from people's comments so far.

Awesome, great job! Your hard work is much appreciated BTW, did we get any General Grievous noises added, by any chance? EDIT: TWO Grievous sound effects (new Wheelbike and HoH)! Yay!

Wow that was quick! Downloaded and everything looks awesome! I especially like what you did for the images for Geonosion with Sonic cannon and Owen and Beru Lars I love how you change the images to make the piece look more unique and the different blade colors are highly appreciated. Darth Bane, Sith'aris sound I didn't know you were a fan! That clip doesn't quite sound like the original release though. (unless I'm remembering it wrong) Also for Pong Krell's I tried to see if he had any sound (just to be thorough) and it said "Bad data in module ... Audio clip not found Clip=null" so I don't know if you did have one or not, I just thought it was odd. I would love to see more sound effects being implemented, like one for most pieces, but I understand that some just don't have any clips available. (like comic only characters) I guess you could get clips from the audio books for characters that only appear in books, but that sound extremely tedious and probably not worth the effort. Great job and thanks!

Hey thanks! I'm glad you appreciate my work.
I just sort of started playing around with MS Paint one time, and realized that it's not all that difficult to make some minor changes to the images that we've got. At first it was just a matter of changing or sharpening the colors of lightsabers, or else adding/removing a blaster here and there, but then I realized that you can copy/paste, which is how I got the major changes that come with the Tonnika Sisters, Luke & Leia on Speeder, Geonosian Cannon, and other pieces.
If you've got a link to a .wav file of the original 9000 sound then I'd be happy to change it for the V-Set 8 release; it does need to be a .wav file though. I'm actually not a fan of that show (is it Yugioh, Bakugan? lol I really don't know), but I had heard the meme and I thought it would fit for Bane.
I didn't have a sound for Pong Krell.
I'd love to get sounds for every mini too. My boys own all DVDs of the Clone Wars TV series, but converting each of those DVDs to an audio file, and then searching through them for the sound effect I want...that would take forever. The reason I did it with the movies is because I know the movies like the back of my hand and it's normally not too difficult to find the quote I'm looking for. I am working on adding sound effects for all the original WotC pieces (not just V-Set pieces) that show up in the movies though; my goal is to have a sound effect for every mini with a speaking part in the movies. If people want to send me .wav files of any other figs (ie, Clone Wars, audio books, video games, etc), I'd be more than happy to include them.

I keep getting this message when trying to import the module:
The file '/Users/timballard/Desktop/Virtual Sets.mdx' is not a valid VASSAL module.
I'm using the link above. What am I doing wrong?

I'm using the link above. What am I doing wrong? Look on the first post of this thread. http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=13419The first video shows you how to properly set up vassal on your computer. The second video just shows some of the cool new features of the Vassal mod that weren't there before. If for some reason you're still having trouble, post here again and I'll see if I can troubleshoot with you.

Found it. CTRL S Ackbar needs "It's a Trap". Maybe even a cut from Sheldon on the big bang theory doing it. Is Bane's sound from DBZ? Love it!!

No, sorry, I haven't put together such a list yet. Basically, I think that pretty much all of the V-Set pieces with movie lines have a sound effect. And some of the WotC pieces do. It is on my to-do list to make that happen for all the possible pieces, but it'll take a while, since I'll need to pull out hundreds of sound clips from the movie audio files.
At first I was just adding the sounds for fun, but now it's become one of the more popular developments in the Vassal SWM experience, so I'll have to keep working on it.

OK thanks. In addition, there are a bunch of audio books that you could pull for Thrawn, Jerec, and others.

By the way, I really like the custom coloration for some of the V-sets. It makes distinguishing pieces much easier.

I started doing a little bit of that in the original extension (for DotF), and then gradually kept stepping it up. For some pieces (like Darth Wyyrlok III) it really makes a big difference when you just do a little bit of color-changing. For other pieces all it takes is changing (or sharpening) the color of a lightsaber. It's actually quite easy to do: I just use the generic MS Paint program.
