LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

What should I do and what should I look for?? I am not much of a competitive player; I just don't have the know how or experience.

Two or three of my friends and I will be taking a plane from Southern Cal. It 's going to be really cool!

Bring a backpack with/for stuff. (snacks, water, you know - survival gear.) Look online for things to do/see. Bring some squads just for fun play, with any other SWM players.

Well, remember GC is the best 5 days in gaming, not 4. Wednesday night (usually across the street @ the Westin hotel in the lobby is where we will be casual gaming, some drinking, and socializing, all around having fun. GC always has games to play (if you don't want to do Star Wars minis). I remember the one year, at night events are over for us we meet up and get a game of Catan in with a couple of strangers. My group will pretty much be up every night gaming and gaming some more. Even after the SW events are finished, you can usually find us in the minis area playing other games.
And yes snacks and drinks are a must, I bring them but I always get so caught up in the game that I forget to eat them. Lol. So yes I'm usually starving myself at GC and not on purpose, it just happens that way.

There are several tournaments that we run that are more fun. Tiles Wars, Dynamic Dou, and sealed are ones we have done in the past.
Also the Mass Battles are for fun. Battle of Hoth, Geonoss Arena Battle, Battle of Endor, and the Trench run are all events that "we" run that are fun.

The Bounty Hunter Challenge is a good fun event as well. I know X wing had 8 man games last year along with their tournaments. I assume the the card game will have fun stuff as well.

If you can't find something fun to do at Gencon then you are doing it wrong.

A standard map tube can be extended to carry four frosty adult beverages with ice!

If I may ask, what part of SoCal are you in? I live in the same general area, and at the moment there's really no one to play with, lol
