Is it possible to compete at regionals without the latest Vsets and still have a chance to do well?

You don't need the newest V-Sets to do well, but having access to them will really help you. If you need them, just send a PM to Engineer and he'll send you whatever sets you need. I think he's got almost all the sets available.

Yes, you can do well without the latest Vsets. Unfortunately, the only WotC squads that will do well are those that did well before Vsets started. There are only about 6 or 8 blueprints for those squads. Sorry - that was the imbalance WotC left us with.

Skybuck
Lancers
Thrawn Swap
Rebel Commandos
Solo Charge

Maybe a couple more. Skybuck, Lancers, and Thrawn swap are still very strong and pure WotC builds have done well at tournaments. I don't think pure WotC Rebel Commandos and Solo Charge have been tried recently so I don't know how well they would still hold up.

In any case, there are small Vset pieces that would likely improve any of the above, but they aren't necessary. The squads are competitive even with just the WotC pieces.
