Is there a simple way to tell is a mini is from Wizards or a virtual set? (Without knowing them all by heart)
If I go to the character search page, it's not clear which sets are virtual.
Then if I search, republic commando for example, I get a list of minis, but still don't know ones are from Wizards (unless you are very familiar withall the minis or the EU)
Same is true if you click on a character here, or if you look at the usage list or ratings list.

Wherever the sets are listed in order, they are chronological. Rebel Storm is first. Masters of the Force is the last WotC set. Destiny of the Force is the first Vset.

Unfortunately, when you sort by set name under the search utility, it doesn't always work. Not sure why they're 'mostly' in order. Some sets don't sort right.

That's somewhat helpful. Is bloomilk still making changes, maybe the name of a v-sets could be a different font?
or something, anything, to note that the mini pictured is the recommended mini?

Not that I know of - feel free to suggest it, though.
For squadbuilding, you can ignore vsets. Go to your collection page and at the bottom make sure you have the checkbox at the bottom UNchecked. (Include Vsets in my collection.)
Then when squadbuilding, choose to restrict squadbuilding to your collection.

I would also love if you could easily tell v-set from wotc.

For memorization, remembering the set Acronyms will probably be easier than individual minis.
WotC: RS: Rebel Storm CS: Clone Strike RotS: Revenge of the Sith UH (or UNH): Universe AoE: Attack on Endor CotF: Champions of the Force BH: Bounty Hunters AE (or A&E): Alliance and Empire RI (or R&I): Rebels and Imperials SS: 2007 Starter Set BoH: Battle of Hoth TFU: The Force Unleashed LotF: Legacy of the Force KOTOR: Knights of the Old Republic CWSS: Clone Wars Starter Set CW: Clone Wars CWB: Clone Wars Battles IE: Imperial Entanglements JA: Jedi Academy AoT: Attack on Teth (Map Pack 1) STP: Showdown at Teth Palace (Map Pack 2) CCI: Crystal Caves of Ilum (Map Pack 3) GaW: Galaxy at War DT: Dark Times MotF: Masters of the Force
V-Sets: DotF: Destiny of the Force RaR: Renegades and Rogues BoT: Battle of Theed Epic: Epic (The hardest one to remember) Ven: Vengeance Brawl: Cantina Brawl SnV (or SaV): Scum and Villainy JvS: Jedi vs. Sith Epic 2: Epic 2 - Electric Boogaloo TOR: The Old Republic GH: Galactic Heroes BHC: Bounty Hunter Challenge CotG: Command of the Galaxy VoW: Vehicles of War AaO: Armed and Operational INV: Invasion

Then when squadbuilding, choose to restrict squadbuilding to your collection. If you do that, you can also ignore the v-sets in the character search. I don't think there is anything I can do as far as individual characters, but Shinja probably could without too much effort. (v-sets are all flagged as 'custom' sets in the database, so that could be of use to mark them somehow)
