Okay...trying to understand how this scenario would work.
My X1 Viper is within 5 squares of jarjar or a gungan with shields to set the scenario. My IG-86 takes a pop shot at jarjar or a gungan shield bearer from 20 squares away (a safe distance) but jarjar deflects the shot to my Viper. Then what? The attack is coming from an ally or an enemy - the molecular shielding states it has to come from an enemy ...but is it an attack from the enemy? The enemy did not role an attack die to shoot at my Viper.

if the damage is redirected, is isnt an attack anymore, its just damage thats being directed to your character from the ability that jar jar used, so according to what i know, if the ability says "when hit by an attack" you cant use it to respond to any other kind of damage

Lets see. If Jar Jar is redirecting the attack to the Viper droid then you use Molecular Shielding as normal, as you are really only re-choosing the target.
If Jar Jar is redirecting the attack to the Gungan Shieldbearer then you can use Energy Shield as normal, same as above.
Now if the Viper Droid was shooting the Gungan Shieldbearer then you use Energy Shield as normal, but Molecular Shielding wouldn't work since you aren't taking 'Attack' damage, but direct damage now.
Does that clear that up for you?
Jar Jar can be pretty crazy with his redirecting shenanigans, even making Melee pieces attack themselves! (cus you can choose ANY character within 6 from Jar Jar, even the attacker!)

I'm not 100% sure what happens if you redirect the attack from the IG-86 to an allied Viper Droid, since both are on the same team I don't think the Shielding will work according to the rules as I read them.
