What happens when a character being haunted by a spirit betrays to the other team? More specifically what happens to the spirit?

THis actually came up for me with the Mandalorian Conscriptor, and a haunted character.

hmm interesting... either A. the spirit continues to haunt him, and he still gains the benefits form it when hes within the 6 squares... or B. the spirit is instantly defeated because his "target" is no longer a legal haunt??

Spirit stays haunted to the guy but still belongs and is activated by the original squad. Normally the spirit then runs away so it doesn't grant benefits to the haunted character anymore.

THat is basically what i was thinking. I tried checking the FAQ but could not find it.

could the spirit then be defeated by the player who owns it to prevent the opponent form gaining benefits anymore?

If you defeated the haunted guy it would defeat it.

Or if you had a Tactics Broker you could choose to defeat the spirit.

But no, there is no practical way to do so.
