Ion Gun works on any non-living character.

To clarifiy EmporerDragon's post... non-living characters are droids and mounted weapons. You cannot use Ion gun against a Cyborg because it counts as a living character... Ion gun only checks for non-living, strictly.

Thank you kendred. I assumed thats how it worked but there are far less logical rulings in this so decided to just ask.

Glossary Text:
A Cyborg character counts as living and as both a Droid and a non-Droid. This means it benefits from effects that target Droids (such as Repair) in addition to other kinds of effects (such as Heal). However, a Cyborg character is also vulnerable to harmful effects that don't normally affect Droids (such as critical hits) as well as those that specify Droids only (such as Ion Gun +20). Cyborgs can be affected by commander effects.

Except Ion gun doesn't only effect Droids anymore. It affects non-living characters, and Cyborgs are living, so Ion Gun does not work on them. Abilities that effect droids specifically, like Fire Control or Droid Mark will work on a Cyborg.
What you're seeing is an example of Wizards doing a cut and paste job when making the newest glossary instead of altering an entry affected by an eratta change, and thus leaving an incorrect example.

However, it's been pointed out by NickName that the definition in the Clone Wars Rulebook is incorrect as it specifically states that Cyborg characters are affected by Ion Gun (which is not in line with the recent errata on Ion Gun).
Recent entry for ION gun: _NickName_ wrote: The rulebook entry for Ion Gun (and Cyborg) is not in line with the change to Ion gun noted in the last two rules inserts. Ion Gun affects non-living. Cyborgs are living and thus not affected.
It has yet to be determined whether or not to accept the latest definition (might be incorrect) or use recent....

And that would be because bloomilk has a copy/paste job from the official Glossary. What happened is Ion Gun received errata, and thus had it's glossary definition changed, but the proofreader/editor of the glossary forgot/did not notice that Ion Gun was also referenced in the definition of Cyborg and did not change it to reflect the eratta. It also didn't help that the CW glossary used a pre-errata definition of Ion Gun, forcing the ability to be re-errata'd.

im not sure. by logic and the movies, electricity ( ion guns, force lightning) does lots and lots of damage to a cyborg (vader) but if the errata says.... and yeah its a copy/paste work. remember occam's razor.
