Every year in our Lower Hutt, New Zealand playgroup, we have the Hutt Regional. We have two pools of players, arranged by seeding. The top 3 from each pool go through to a super 6. Unlike most tournaments, the games take place over a period of time, and you can use a different squad for each game. We're still not letting Daala in, which means our meta is a little bit different than the US - I think squads that found it tough against Daala (eg Thrawn, Bastila) will be right back in the mix with her gone. We have two pools: Pool 1: Aaron (Sharron) Ethan (Ewasomeer) Hayden (hayden_solo) Henko (The Purple Phlurp) JP Mike (Mike Moore Smuggler) Pool 2: Dave (Dr Daman) Graham (The Hutts) Ian Kezza (kezzamachine) Paul (Darth Moore) Pool 2 hasn't really kicked off yet, but Pool 1 has played a bunch of their games. I thought you guys might like to see what squads we're using. Last weekend, we had: Game one: Hayden who was playing http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/143598/mando-machine-guns VS JP who was running a small but powerful New Republic squad, the battle took place in the Rancor pit and the victory went to Hayden at 126-114. Game two: Ethan's http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/145207/h-t-h-c VS JP's New Republic Jedi In the plaza Ethan took the victory at 177-83. Game three: JP's New Republic squad VS Henko's Vong bombs in the Rancor pit, JP walked away with the victory at 162-152. Game Four: Henko's Sepratist IG-110 squad and Hayden's http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/131770/maybe squad squared off in jabbas palace. Hayden ended up smashing Henko with a 220-75 victory. Last round: Ethan's http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/145207/h-t-h-c VS Henko's Separatist snipers the fight was a tough one in the plaza and Ethan took the victory at 200-84. And the weekend just been saw: Sharron bt JP 212-66 on rancor pit, JP was playing luke GH, Kyle , jan ors, r2po, jaina and Han RG. I played my master of war squad- war master, 2x Jedi hunter, nen yim, a fanatic, yammosk, and filler. Mike beat JP with a 215-42 on Rancor Pen. JP had the same squad, and mike played seps with 4 commando droid officers, a spotter and sniper, bombs and lobot, the usual filler in seps.

Pool 2 had its first two games last night - here's Kezzamachine's report: Quote:The Group of Death kicked off tonight. It started with a 145-33 win for my Bastilla/Ramos/Donetta/Nexu/Cad Bane squad over Ian's Bastilla/HK/Dur/Gha/4x Zann Droideka squad on Jabba's Palace. Ian succumbed to the temptation to charge and I managed to outlast the onslaught! Then Dave's Durge Speeder/BX Commandos and Officers/San/MTB/Poggles squad squashed my Mace/GOWK/HK/R2 squad 200-43 on the Rancor. Too much teeth from those Commandos (although it was the bombs that the difference)!

OK - we've had a bunch more games in Pool 2:
Ian vs TheHutts - TheHutts won 96-51 on Jabba's Palace. TheHutts was running New Republic Solo Charge with the Vong Bodyguard guy, while Ian was running all Fringe with Talon, new Boba, Dash, Jarael, Marn, Lobot etc. Boba with 90 accurate damage and the Intuition CE is scary, and I was lucky that (a) I got a shot on Lobot, and (b) Han was rolling well with his Evade saves.
Darth Moore defeated TheHutts 99-72 on Jabba's Palace. Paul was playing his Vong Praetorite Scout swarm with a Klat for gambit, while I was playing Talon Karrde with Boba, Dash, and Jarael.
Daman beat Ian 91-29 on Anchorhead. David was playing his Mando the Vindicated/Neo Crusader/obscene number of Mouse Droids squad, while Ian was playing 10 Klats with Bastilla.
Exact scores to come on last night's games: Darth Moore (Durge, CDOs) beat Ian (Han Rebel General, Tantives) 136-15 on Rancor Pit.
TheHutts (Cad, Assaj, Rodian Assassins) beat Kezzamachine (Caedus, Revan, Ommin) 179-68 on Rancor Pit.
Daman (Nom, Yomin) beat TheHutts (Cad, Aurra, Hondo) 200-71 on Rhen Var. Note to self: remember that shooting lane and don't put all your Drones there....
Kezzamachine (Durge, 4 CDOs) beat Darth Moore (Ommin, Caedus, Zam) 200-76 on Rhen Var.
With one game to go in Pool 2, Daman, Darth Moore, and Kezzamachine go through to the Super 6, while TheHutts and Ian go through to the not-so-super-6. It was a heck on a tough pool - it featured both of last year's Hutt Regional finalists, all of the National Championship finalists from the last two years, and both on NZ's hall of famers.

The Super 6 members from Pool 1 have been decided - Ethan vs Hayden was played on Rancor Pit, Hayden's Togorian and Dug BSB's and 24 Black Sun Thugs taking out Ethan's mix of ARC Troopers with Fordo and Ordo for good measure. The result sees Hayden through to the Super6 while Ethan now faces 3 remaining matches in the Not-So-Super6.
In Pool 2 Dave (Daman) defeated Paul (Darth Moore) with a 2-0 win, with Naboo vs Talon, Boba, Morrigan, tyber zann, marn on tomb of the acolytes.
There are a couple of games to clean up in Pool A - it's been on hold for a little while, as Hayden's been on holiday. But all the players involved are through to Super 6, so the games can get played then.
Standings, Pool 1 Aaron - 4 games, 11 points, 4-0 Hayden - 4 games, 10 or 11 points (??), 4-0 Mike - 4 games, 9 points, 3-1 Ethan - 5 games, 5 points, 2-3 JP - 5 games, 3 points, 1-4 Henko - 5 games, 1 point, 0-5
