This is a question I've been wondering about for a little while... Does Willing to Serve completely remove the "commander" designation from a piece (for the purposes of allied commander effects)? For example, would an Imperial piece with Willing to Serve benefit from Tarkin's commander effect? Or, as in the case of this custom piece, would a commander Darth Nihl with Willing to Serve violate the requirements of the CE? Thanks in advance.

No. A character with Willing to Serve is just considered both a Commander and a Follower for commander effects.

Think of it like Cyborg; instead of one or the other, he's both.

Looking for confirmation on this question. Does "Willing to Serve" make a character a follower only, or both a follower and a commander (for the purpose of CEs)?

I was told they count as followers only. Willing to Serve (Counts as a follower for purposes of allied commander effects) Which would mean Arkanian Jedi General CE would not extend (Willing to Serve) Army of Light Jedi Lord CE to 8 squares. So an actual ruling would be nice to know...

Arkanian Jedi General: Each commander in your squad (including this character) increases the range of its commander effect by 2 squares. Army of Light Jedi Lord: At the end of this character's turn, 1 Army of Light follower within 6 squares can immediately move 2 squares.

I will look into this.

Pretty sure of the intent, but I need to read the design/QC discussions.

I couldn't find any 'official' ruling. EmporerDragon's answer above and a comment from TheHutts in the Mini of the Day thread (that concurred with EmporerDragon). That's all I found.

RULING:

The following glossary entry has been added to the ability listing here on Bloomilk, and will be published in a future update of the full glossary document.

Glossary:
This character also counts as a follower for purposes of commander effects of allied characters. (It still counts as a commander.)
