I am scratching my head on this one:
Let's say I have a character with defensive plates:
"If this character does not move any distance on its turn, until the end of its next turn it gains Damage Reduction (#)."
Turn 1, I do not move. So I gain DR 10. Turn 2, I move, and an enemy takes an attack of opportunity on my during that turn.
DR 10 applies, correct?

Correct, since you have it until the end of the turn.

Thanks! I think I was a bit confused since that seems to be the literal interpretation, but at odds with what I thought was conceptually being represented.

Yeah, I've never really thought about it, but a better abstraction would be to last until the start of the next turn. Once you start moving you should lose the benefit. Throw it on the list of imperfect abstractions in this game.
