I'd say no. In the comment section of the glossary page for Face Your Destiny, FingersandTeeth states "this ability targets, even though it does not follow targeting rules."
Can't target a ghost.

The fact that a Spirit never counts as adjacent to another character renders the whole thing moot anyway. Targeting just means you can't waste your force points trying.
