Sent a Email to FFG today just out of curiosity of response. I asked if in the near future because of the new movies if they would ever consider continuing the SWM line to go with the new movies. I was thinking maybe if we even created some sort of petition with hundreds to thousands of signatures saying we want SWM to be produced again if they would possibly hear us out. If they see if there is still a gold mine to be made here you never know. Thoughts?

I don't think this would happen. If we're lucky, they might make painted minis for Imperial Assault that could be easily co-opted for Star Wars Minis. That's as much as I think you could hope for.

Not going to happen. They would have to pay WOTC in order to use the game rules. And while they do have a bit of a relationship due to Netrunner, I don't think they need to. Not to mention the problems of converting a CMG into a FFG distribution model.

And considering the amount of time that has passed, I doubt they think it will be successful enough.

Understandable on both replies. Thank-you. I guess what I want more then anything is the backing from all of you. If I can get the petition in order would all of you be willing to sign it if FFG was willing to listen.

these days,
the fanbase can make it's own miniatures at better quality and cheaper cost than the established players BigGrin
so,
you might have more success making some kickstarters and finding some sculptors etc who'd tackle that subject matter,
and then devise a way to either 3D lazer ablative print
sculpt and mold, with polyvinyl or pewter etc.

That is to say, Star Wars Miniatures should learn more
from the Heroclix/NECA experience, BigGrin
during the gap era between Topps selling it off
and the players acquiring it and making it again.
For comparison, Heroclix increased after it became what it is now, and the playerbase expanded 6 fold,
with an increase in prize support and new sets funded by the 'chase convention rares".
If there was serious interest from the fanbase,
and a market cap around 10 000 players (world-wide)...
earlybird seeders would be found easily...
the problem would be in acquisition of stuff from Disney-yutani and from WotC...

It's a long shot to convince FFG to see margin and utility in
continuing the Star Wars Miniatures stuff,
yet - I'd completely support anything on Get Up (or, if physical signatures are needed, that also etc).
Especially if the content was Jedee, aliens, robots/droids and clone-wars era related BigGrin
Hopefully Knight Models "won't" make SWMini's stuff in their pewter or resin lines,
and there might be a few ways to make the models you're looking for elsewise.

Good luck;
thanks for having the daring to make a great inquiry with FFG,
and welcome to Bloomilk BigGrin
|hopefully this means we'll see you on the Customs forum|

Wizards of the Coast owns the rights to the d20 mechanic and has said they will not sell the rights to the mechanic. The best we could hope for is for FFG to create a similar system but they are hung up on scenario battles and doing well with that.

I just assume that means there will be Force Awakens products of THEIR Star Wars miniatures line (Imperial Assault)

I find it really unlikely that they will relaunch an old game with a limited fanbase so shortly after starting their own.
