these are interesting meshes;
hopefully they translate to interesting physical minis;
"one in the hand, is worth 2 in the thought-cloud"
especially for ultra-fine details like the lightsaber hilts etc, which work in theory, but often break at 3D print time.
I found this out when printing the $8USD "burned anakin" figure from Shapeways or HeroMinis a while back;
it was in FUDii or FXD material, and was exceedingly detailed if not similarly brittle.
although I am uninterested in the subject matter of this concept so far,
owing to not being a fan of pre-Clone Wars sith,
I would be interested to see more of other concepts and particularly the behind the scenes.
Were these custom-made meshes? did folks have to use metasequoia or blender, 3dSMax etc, to make meshes align to a sketch?
or, were these created using 'existing off-the-shelf' "dialed in" options? (such as via HeroForge, Makermini etc)
thanks for sharing,
and it's neat to see 'virtual minis' as a concept also,
which fit nicely alongside pepakura/papercraft,
composite minis,
and other ways to play or collect.
|sorta like virtual lego as opposed to a physical lego collection, elsewhere, folks design complete virtual lego 'sets',
and some can pick-n-pack and mock-up the non-official virtual lego set to order|
