I'm mostly a lurker here, although I use the site fairly often, mostly the database.
Looking into the forums more often lately made me realize, there are more spam entries there recently than actual SWM entries. I'm the only one who finds this annoying?
Is there anything that can be done about it?

you are not alone, Jakster.
I do not know what is causing the "spike of spamming"
it is also sad to lament that spam content outnumbers the non-spam content intermittently at the moment.

However...
I am sure it is just a momentary phase, and it will in time pass.
In the meantime, if you are reading this:
Sithborg, Shinja, Swinefeld, Hothie... you're our only hopes! BigGrin
only the mods and creators have the power to use ProBoards fu and delete the spam entry and spammers...
hopefully - the spam-reckoning comes sooner rather than later.

all we can do elsewise, is encourage the lurker/visitor crowd,
to share more stuff, their collection, minis, customs you name it ---- if and when they can hehehehe
Do your part to put spammers in their place - 'spam' and share your SWMinis hehehe BigGrin

Also best not post in them, no posts means it go's down the list/forum faster.

Seems its the same person just using different names, the fact that he/she is using different names mean that the mods are banning the name once they come online. So he just makes a new account. Sad thing but not much else can be done. Just hope the person gets fed up and leaves.

Came on today to see how the next set is shaping up. not much new info out it seems. guess I will try again in a weeks time.

can't an IP block be used?
Other ProBoards fora use IP banning - unless the bot is using a VPN/scrambler or something,
or indeed dreadtech, in the worsecase that it's a physical person with nothing better to do than troll-lo-lol...
it just seems to have increased a lot in the last 3-4months

We should ban the BX Commando Droids. That would fix it! Wait, that just fixes my CIS vs. Rebel issues. Blushing
