I'm totally new to this game, but I keep seeing people mention the synergy between strafe and swap, specifically Ani on STAP, and Captain Panaka. I'm drawing a major blank here, so can someone explain to me how this works? I'd appreciate it.

Dive-bomb a Strafe unit into enemy territory by swapping him and then take full advantage of his strafe. In this way, you can use strafe from a much more strategic position without actually having to move the strafe unit itself.

Basically, capt.Panama has a commander effect that lets you swap two allies with the same base size at the end of his turn, anikin on stap has the strafe ability which allows him to attack each enemy he fly's over during his movement on his turn, so you fly anistap out on a strafe as your first activation, and then for the second activation on your turn you activate capt. Panama, and at the end of his turn swap anistap back to a safe area by swapping him with a cheap 3point rodians brute or other medium base scub and that protects anistap from being killed and instead your opponent is left with a scrub to kill in his place, and then hopefully you can do it again the next round!

For the record, this also requires Mas Amedda, who has an ability which makes many allied Commander Effects have unlimited range.

The Republic isn't necessarily known for this strategy, but you can also field a bunch of 3-point pieces so that your opponent runs out of things to activate before you do (this strategy is called "Outactivating"), so that Anakin can strafe back, and instead of swapping him out for a weak piece, you can (if you feel brave) send a powerful Jedi or something back there to wreak havoc.

And welcome to the game! ThumbsUp

Also for the record Captain Panaka may only swap medium base size. Mouse droids may be used, but Mas Amedda is the side-kick of choice.
