Did anybody else encounter a severe map gluing problem with the Ultimate Mission books? Options

I have only the Rebel Storm one and I loathe it to this day. Not because it is useless, which it is and even was back then, but because the only thing useful in it, I was unable to use, though I paid 26 Euros for the thing!
The map was glued in such an idiotic way, that you were unable to unfold it without destroying it, it wasn't clumsiness on my part (I'm far from a handy man, but I'm not that clumsy), it simply was not possible. Now it's lying around half-ripped in my cupboard since 2005, my worst 26 Euro investment ever, I still loath it to this day!

yes... I also encountered a glue problem in some of them.
The corners - as new- were all bent at 4 different stores with different Batch IDs,
the glue was WAY too strong (I think the factory thought the page was supposed to fold out of the book hehehe)

However, you can still laminate it or otherwise attach it to a new board,
to enjoy in tile wars format or what have you.
