Indeed! It looks conceptually similar to SWMPlay's idea, which is neat.
As awesome as VASSAL is, something like that is needed -
something that makes SWMinis accessible, and easy and fun to play BigGrin

Whoa! So, I don't have a lot of experience with Steam. Do I 'Add to Collection' to download it?

@CorellianComedian,
yup, or right click save as...
it's a little clunky, but that is an awesome concept for sure -
and great for introducing SWMinis to "digital-only" players

It'd be even more awesome, if they took that SWCardGame (an online APP, not the previous Decipher or WotC SWTCG games)
and incorporated deckbuilding or that action-y style too,
with sfx and timers etc...

Conversely, they could make the terrain more of a background thing (better blended),
and modify XNA2.8 chess, so as to show all possible moves a piece could make when you hover the cursor over it -
that'd be AWESOME! (some have said of that idea in the past, it's like cheating, I contend it is more like an RTS/TBS)

Not quite. First, you need to own the game Tabletop Simulator. Then, in the community hub for the game, find the mod and click subscribe. After that, it will install itself and be accessible.

For those wanting to try this, Tabletop Simulator is currently on sale for half price ($10) thru Wednesday.

Is it actually p playable functionally? I mean I know you could do it, but is it too cumbersome to bother? Had anyone done it? Two sentences review for us?

I've fiddled around with it. It's not bad and does do a good job at simulating the actual game. The biggest problem is setup as you have to sort through a few sacks of minis and cards to find what you want, but you can always save a quick list of what you want to place in the game's "chest" (much like actual life now that I think about it).

Between it and Vassal, I would say Vassal is simpler and easier to run, but Table Top Simulator better captures the tactile feel of the game. If the author continues his support of the game and adds more minis and maps, then it'll be a fine counterpart to Vassal for people that want a more visual and physical online minis experience.
