A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...



The Clone Wars had raged on for three long years with many casualties on both sides. But with the Confederacy all but defeated and beaten back to their capital of Muunilest and no easy end in sight the Republic prepared themselves for the final fight. When suddenly a surprising offer of complete and total surrender of Confederate forces from Count Dooku himself drew representatives from both sides to the neutral planet Mandalore to discuss peace. It was here that Darth Sidious, the mastermind behind the Clone Wars, launches the next stroke in his plot to finally wipe out the Jedi and seize control of the Galaxy...

Citizens of the Republic and Confederacy,
The war was over. After years of fighting, a peace accord was finally reached between the warring factions. But, mere moments after peace was declared a bold assassination attempt was carried out by the Jedi. With all of their enemies in one place they attempted to eliminate all of us with one swift and vicious move. My life was only saved by the intervention of our former enemies Count Dooku and General Grievous, who fought valiantly against the Jedi and allowed us all to escape the treachery of the Jedi plot.

It seems that this whole war was a plot hatched by the senior members of the Jedi in order to stir up strife and weaken the galaxy as a whole and seize control. All of this I have learned from records handed over from Count Dooku who has confessed that he had been working under the direction of the Jedi council under duress while his world of Serenno was held hostage. And while I would personally have called this a Separatist plot not mere days ago, his words have been proved by the actions of the Jedi as reports have been streaming in for the last few hours of coordinated galaxy-wide attacks on politicians, officers, and leaders on thousands of systems simultaneously. I have ordered all loyal Clone forces to stand with us against the Jedi terrorists but it seems their plot has run deep as the same reports of the attacks mention Clone forces aiding in the attacks.

We have been caught off-guard - betrayed by those that we believed were sworn to protect us. But all is not lost. Even now I have activated a secret reserve force of Stromtroopers, loyal not to the Jedi but to this office, and to this senate. In this time I ask each and every one of you to ignore the lies that our enemy would attempt to sway you with and pledge your allegiance to this cause. We stand on the threshold of a new beginning. In order to ensure our security and continuing stability, the Republic will be organized into the first Galactic Empire. And together we will unite against this Jedi rebellion and at last bring peace to this galaxy.

Welcome to the first new Star Wars Miniatures ongoing campaign of 2016. The set up is that the Clone Wars was failing for Sidious and as such he launched Order 66 early. But a daring Commando raid led by General Spryguy and Kenobi managed to disrupt the transmitter on Kamino and disable the microchips implanted in many members of the clone army who remained loyal to their Jedi generals. But now the galaxy is in Civil War. Clone brother fights brother and former Separatist enemies are now allies of the empire. And worst of all, a dark menacing creature known simply as Darth Vader has appeared from a top secret cloning project and leads the forces of this new Empire against those that still cling to the name of the Republic.

Come and sign up either here or on the vassal forums and take part in this ongoing campaign. All that you need is to choose sides (Empire or Republic) and then find an opponent (either in person or on vassal, and if you don't have one, come anyways as pair-ups can happen) and fight battles using unique allocated pieces on pre-designated maps sometime in a two week time period. It's an awesome way to shake things up, keep the game going, and have a lot of fun. Huge thanks to Spryguy for his help organizing things this time around and leading the Forces of the Republic.
