Hope everyone is well.
Here's the situation: I've got enough material commissioned to release a new map pack. However there are going to be some pretty significant changes that really NEED to happen, in order to make these maps viable to other games, mostly RPGs.
Firstly, I have at least 8 new maps in the works.
- A settlement near a swamp, the structures are made of scrap metal and old cargo containers - The atrium/access level to a moon base. (this may get switched out with a "Force Awakens" locale) - A Jedi monastery double map set ( kind of like the Elven outpost in Lord of the Rings, but kind of Buddhist as well) - A cavernous installation that connects to the monastery - A beach encampment built around a starship crash site - Maz Kanata's Castle
Layout wise, all the maps are great for SWM gameplay. I don't know about "restricted" list, but honestly, that hasn't been my focus in a long time.
Ok here are the major changes:
-Map size is increased to 24x36- The amount of extra space this gives me to work with is surprisingly significant. In my opinion this has very little bearing on the game in general.
-New terrain markings- This has been a notion of mine since less and less people use these maps for SWM, and really more for RPG's or other miniature games. At this point, it's really the only way I could move forward with a viable map pack. This will be a difficult sell for some of you, but in order to make the transition as smooth as possible, there will a key included to ensure that all new markings can clearly interface with the SWM rules.
The Terrain Markings are planned as follows:
Doors- Same as always Difficult Terrain- Same as always Cover- Same as always Pits- Orange Lines
New changes
Walls- Thick black lines with a thin white border Blocking/Impassible terrain- Red border Water- Blue Border/Considered difficult terrain for SWM Elevated or Raised Areas- Red Dash Lines/Considered Blocking Terrain for SWM
Conditional Terrain:
Green Dashes- some maps in the future will have features that may require special rules or conditions agreed upon by opponents at the beginning of the game. This particular set will not feature these.
Please have an open mind and be flexible. All in all, the changes are significant, but the vast majority of the terrain markings are the same throughout the maps. If nothing else this is an opportunity to add some fun and special rules to maps.

sounds SWEET! It'll be great to see them, and preview them. I'm liking the sound of some terrain innovation - I can see this working into Tile Wars - thanks for keeping the awesome going, Jedeecartographer

As a guy who plays the SWM campaign version, I appreciate the RPG aspects! Thanks a lot!
