OK,so according to the glossary, blast bug damage cannot be prevented, however doesn't mention not being able to be redirected, so if you have JarJar in your squad, can you still use draw fire and bombard gungan to switch the target of the blast bug damage? Also I assume that if JarJar is the only target he would have to take the damage instead of negating the attack like would normally happen since it says the bug damage can't be prevented. I would think you can use draw fire and at least the first part of bombard gungan because it triggers on targeting and doesn't specify that it has to be an actual attack versus a replaces attack SA.

Draw Fire doesn't redirect damage anyway. It redirects the targeting. Redirecting damage would be Bodyguard.

Yes, I understand that aspect of it, I was just not clear if you could use bombard gungan to redirect the damage to another target after using draw fire. Also wanted to know what happens if there is no other target to redirect the damage to when using bombard gungan as it says if no other target is available then the attack is negated. I would think JarJar would still have to take the damage as it says it cannot be prevented, but not sure.

If there are no characters within 6 squares of Jar Jar, the Blast Bug would be lost. Think of it like this: Draw Fire redirects the attack to Jar Jar, and then Bombad Gungan redirects it away.
Though as Blast Bug and Bombad Gungan both have a range of 6, Unless you're using a Seer, your Subcommander's going to Blast Bug himself.

Yeah you have to read the FAQ for that part on Bombad Gungan.

..but to answer the question, yes, Bombad Gungan can be used after Draw Fire has been used to force targeting Jar Jar.

thanks guys, for some reason I was thinking that I had heard you couldnt prevent or redirect the damage and wanted to make sure the redirect part wasnt just missing from the card and/or glossary of blast bug.

Incidentally, you can't bodyguard it because it isn't an attack.
