Yun-Ne'Shel Priest Commander Effect: After setup, choose a Yuuzhan Vong follower. That character gains Avoid Defeat.
Since this is "given" at the start, does that mean it can't be disrupted and when the Yun-Ne'Shel Priest dies, the follower still has it?

You're just choosing the character that will be subject to the CE. I believe that all other CE conditions would still apply.

What he "should" be: As for the Yun Ne-Shel Priest - the +4 to saves is certainly annoying, but not the most offensive part. Giving out Avoid Defeat is a major issue, and it is compounded by the +4 to saves. This is all un-disruptable, and is frequently used to make a bodyguard that can live forever. By design the priest was meant to strengthen Unique Vong. It failed miserably in that aspect, but original intent could be salvaged. If the Yun Ne-Shel Priest's main ability, Yun Ne'Shel Devotion (+4 to saves) only applied to Uniques - that would be a huge step in the correct direction. It also is odd mechanics that the ability itself applies to a whole squad. The ability should just be for that piece, and the CE should give the devotion. This is how the "devotion" mechanic in general was supposed to work. Fanatics and Priests have the devotion, and priests give out the devotin. Giving out Avoid Defeat really should be dropped altogether. Here's what that would look like: Quote:Yun-Ne'Shel Priest 13 Hit Points: 30 Defense: 16 Attack: 1 Damage: 10
Special Abilities Melee Attack (Can attack only adjacent enemies) Avoid Defeat (Whenever this character would be defeated, make 2 saves, each needing 11; if both succeed, this character has 10 Hit Points instead of being defeated) Force Immunity (Enemies cannot affect this character with Force powers, or spend Force points to reroll attacks against this character or to respond to this character's attacks and abilities) Yun-Ne'Shel Devotion (This character and each Yuuzhan Vong ally gets +4 to save rolls as long as it has another Yuuzhan Vong ally within 6 squares)
Commander Effect Unique Allied Yuuzhan Vong gain Yun-Ne'Shel Devotion
"The Jedi revere life, as does Yun-Ne'Shel, the Modeler." -- Nom Anor, in his guise as the Prophet Yu'shaa Heck - you can even give him disciplined leader then

The avoid defeat part is disruptible, just like the Mando training sergeant.
To be non disruptible it would need to say until the end of the skirmish.

To be non disruptible it would need to say until the end of the skirmish. Really? I did not know that. Good to know. So that also means when the Priest dies, it goes away?

Just as I said above...it's just a CE that only applies to one ally. All other conditions of most CEs (disruptive/ distraction, needing to have the commander on the board) should still apply.

Still not a fan of this piece, but that's slightly better than what I thought.

As I was laying awake in bed last night, pondering our prospective presidential choices, it occurred to me-"hey! this avoid defeat can have Jam Transmission used on it!"

Sad thing is that the priest just doesn't die nearly quick enough to justify spending lots of attacks trying to get him to fail his own Avoid Defeat saves needing 7's.

Mathematically it should only take 2 deaths as 1 of the 4 rolls SHOULD be under a 7. Now I know that isn't how things always work out in our game (or any dice game), just pointing out the math.

It's more of "can be used" not "will be" PS In this instance "can" does not mean "must".
