When did the popular format change from 100 to 150 to 200 and why did it change? Just bigger and better stuff? Did it change during WotC to accommodate Revan, Bane, and Exar Kun?
[Adam Sandler old man voice] I remember in my day we used 100 point squads with 1 main piece and a bunch of randoms. Like Maul CotS, Bith BSV and small pile of Aqualish Assassins...And we loved it!!! [/old man voice]

In my area the format was always set up in three different sections 100, 150, 200 and sometimes a special tag team 200 where you'd buddy up and each bring 100 points then play together as a team. The best part was you could either float up or down the sizes, but most people built for a specific format and stayed there. i personally usually played 150, but went down to 100 a couple times. It was also commonly seen that 100 was for beginners and new players to the tourneys, 150 was kinda standard, and 200 was where the big boys (so to speak) played

It changed very early in WOTC days to 150. The 2007 champs was 150 which at the time was a very newly created format if I recall.
I believe WOTC also changed it again right before they dumped it in late 2009 or early 2010.
The change to 200 was because the players kept asking because at 150, many games would go to time because usually you only had 1 or 2 hitters on your squad so the first guy to kill one of the other guys hitters had an almost unsurmountable lead. With 200 you could have more hitters so you were less afraid of getting into combat because if you lost a guy it wasn't your whole team.

I joined the game during Alliance and Empire, and I believe 200 points was already the standard by that point.

CotF was when the standard drifted to 150.
I want to say it was around the time of TFU or LotF when 200 became the default.
