I read CEs and SAs wrong ALL THE TIME. So I think I've devised a way to always have them make sense.
Simple Example: Darth Bandon
Allies within 6 squares get +10 Damage against adjacent enemies. It's written perfectly.
Target of CE? Range from commander?(if not given, then board wide) What is being given? Condition to make the CE true/active (if not specified, count everything as true)
A more confusing SA: Yun-Ne'Shel Priest
Yun-Ne'Shel Devotion (
This character and each Yuuzhan Vong ally gets +4 to save rolls as long as it has another Yuuzhan Vong ally within 6 squares)
Apply the same rules as the CE only a little different on the "Who".
Target of SA? (if not listed, then target is self) Range from SA giver? (if not given, then board wide) What is being given? Condition to make the CE true/active (if not specified, count everything as true)
Now the final trick to all of this is how do range boosting CEs and SAs effect other CEs and SAs
My brain melting Nemesis is Yammosk War Coordinator's,
Yuuzhan Vong War Coordinator special ability. Because the
WHO is not a piece, it's targeting other CEs and SAs, you have to read it closely.
Yuuzhan Vong War Coordinator (
Special abilities that grant bonuses to Yuuzhan Vong within 6 squares or commander effects normally limited to 6 squares of characters in your squad (including this character) have unlimited range. You may not have more than one character with Yuuzhan Vong War Coordinator in your squad.)
Target of SA?(if not listed, then target is self) Range from SA giver? (if not given, then board wide) What is being given? Condition to make the CE true/active (if not specified, count everything as true)It doesn't have a range, nor does it have a condition to be true.
It would take a very long time to sift through every SA and CE , but if you find one that doesn't follow this format, please point it out.
Thank you for reading this and please add any tips you have that help you read tricky SAs and CEs.
