Also, just wondering, I noticed that we are going down to 30 new characters in the main set. WOW. It took me sometime to adjust from going from 60 to 45, understood and justified, however going to 30 is quite significant. Is this a trend and next, we go down to 25 or 20 cards per main set??????? This is quite depressing, for me at least. Sorry. Just being honest. To keep it at 45 or even 40, I would even be willing to pledge more $$$, to keep it going. But 30 cards, is something that is making me second guess staying involved in pledging money to, and is almost becoming embarrassing to ask peops to donate for. Can we put into the roundtable of discussion for peops to donate $40 or $50 per set????? My selling point to guys here at my LGS, is that when Wizards sold boosters, you would have to fork out approx $300-$400, just to get a full set. So, I really don't think that asking for a little bit more extra money to keep the new card sets coming at a respectable level. IMHO. Thanks guys for all that you do in keeping the game going.

As I understand it, printing is done in sheets of 18. So we're down to 36 pieces a set, where we were at 72 to start with.
Money might be a factor, but I think a bigger issue is play-testing - we weren't getting enough play-testing in to get everything tested thoroughly enough with 72 pieces in a set, and 36 is more manageable. There were a few pieces that slipped through the cracks from set 6 onwards, like Daala, Imperial Governor, etc, that weren't tested enough. I think 36 is fine. We could always make the sets focus on uniques more and more - although I guess the GenCon sets need that balance for sealed.

It's a bummer, but I totally get making it easier to playtest - if lazy folks like myself playtested a little bit, maybe they'd go back up to 45?
I wouldn't mind seeing more Uniques - there's a TON of low-profile Uniques that beg for a mini simply by virtue of 5 minutes of fame. Ima-Gun-Di, Tera Sinube, pretty much every SWTOR companion. I'm sure there are quite a few Uniques that could use a makeover, too.

The key number is 54 - the full set plus the mini-set. Testing for sets 10 and 11 was pretty good, but 12 was a bit slower, and 13 has started pretty slowly as well, so more testing would be appreciated. We'd need lots to justify going back up though, I think. Pretty much all the problem pieces in the v-sets have been non-uniques or pieces that boost non-uniques - it's pretty easy to test uniques, as the squads are easier to build and more fun to play.

As TheHutts said, the biggest issue is playtesting. Money and printing is an issue, too, but we just weren't getting the playtests that were needed to support the larger sets.

I feel like we need to do more squad building as a community too. Make squads with the new pieces, ignore the badly built non v-set squads, comment on other squads. It feels like squad building on Bloomilk has been infantilised at the moment, there are good squads being made, but not enough. It would be good to support each other in raising the standard of building - building's a very important part of testing as well.
