Soft counters definitely. Hard limits crush part of the fun of squadbuilding and really go against the grain of Star Wars. My favorite solution would be having enough good pieces that counter high activations that high activations aren't as dominating - so "normal" squads that don't have Amanoa/Odan-Urr/Jango Mandalore can still compete because they aren't guaranteed to get owned by superior activations every round.

I really like the work that has been done on this already and a soft counter/bonus for being out activated for each faction would probably be enough

More answers in creative ways are always welcome. The more ways to solve a problem, the better.

It was shown that it is still a very powerful strategy, with it being the only squad that went undefeated at Gencon during the Swiss, and its loss in the semis being a very, very close game.

Don't forget the overall winner had it too. Wink

Dodonna is act control, but not in the out-act-&-smash kind of way. He really just served to keep activations even because my squad had EIGHT activations...its only when he's in a squad with 18 or 28 that he's a problem.

First of all - you had 10.Flapper

I only had 11.

Activations have been much lower in general, which is a good thing.

No, it was eight. There was a total of 10 cards/minis, but Hansicle doesn't activate at all, and Han CotMF obviously doesn't activate until he gets rescued and replaces Hansicle.

Concede on Han not counting twice. But Han is in your squad once either way.

9 acts. Lol

Regardless, activation control is activation control. You couldn't put some many higher priced figures together in other factions and not be done in 5 phases.

Activations were down this year, period. I think that is clear.
