Don't mind but wish they had been kept on unique characters above a set point cost. Take Mas, CE is fine if he was costed more appropriately. Never like non unique characters having them though. However what done is done and vsets should continue now.

Hey all, I admit I haven't really read ALLL the comments on here :) As my friends will attest, I'm really a melee player, I find it hard to 'hold back and be strategic' with shooters .. haha.. the one exception was when i played Pong Krell and commandos which was fun.. anyways, get to the point!
I like the concept of ranged commander effects, and relay orders (ranged from there), as it seems a realistic approach.. you're near a commander, he gives you stuff, he pumps you up, he yells at you and gets your to sort your defence out (advantageous cover bonus etc)...
What i dislike with boardwide CEs is when they are used with swap squads (not being sour, although i got nailed by two of them on the weekend haha).. It just seems way to unbelievable to be able to swap pieces all over the board, and its nigh on impossible to counter... I realise they are probably fun to play and require lots of stategy and skill (that i'm sure) but i don't think it results in a fair matchup, and seems to be super "fantasy"... atleast swapping with range is realistic you attack, and Panaka sends another dude to take your place as he needs you somewhere else... but swapping dudes onteh other side of the battlefield, on the other side of teh enemy lines?
Anyway, I don't want to rant.. but I did love that Vassal tourney last year where all CEs were ranged, it was fun :)
\m/ yours in minis.. I love this game! Rich

Rich Yup, swap is where rangeless CEs are abusive - otherwise I don't really see a big deal.

Or should the question be to make Mas a Fringe, or provide 1 character who can use booming voice equivalent for boardwide CE for each faction>?
